I got a reply.. and darn it - she's good with other cats and she's healthy!!! GRR!!

    Hi Naomi,
Yes, Harmony is a pretty easy-going, adaptable little girl. She lives with other cats at the shelter and they all get along beautifully. She's the youngest in there. She's had her basic F3 series, you would have to get the rabies shot for her and the FeLV shot too (I think), our group can't afford the full series for every cat. Harmony hasn't been tested for FIV/FeLV. We don't test kittens, I believe they can't be accurately tested below a certain age. But we have no reason to think Harmony would have/carry any viruses, she and her siblings were a healthy bunch when they came to us. If you wanted to adopt her you could have her tested and if any health concerns are found, we would take her back. Harmony has shown no preference as to friends, she plays equally with the girls and the boys in her area.
If you'd like to meet her you could visit the shelter during our open hours on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 to 2:00. (Visits at other times can be arranged by phoning ahead.) If you'd like to know more about Harmony you should call our shelter coordinator, Carol, at 604-467-4493. She knows more about their personalities, health and history than I do.

The shelter is at 11540 240th Street in Maple Ridge, about 2 km north from Lougheed; 1 km south from Dewdney Trunk. On the west side of the street are new homes. On the east side you'll see older homes and a horse pasture. We're beside the horse pasture at 11540. The address is fairly well marked on a carved wooden sign by the road. We're in a red barn half way down the drive, just behind the house.

Thanks for asking about Harmony. I hope it works out.
    Brigitta

    Double Yay !!!

Did I tell you I have an aunt out in Maple Ridge?? I've been meaning to take a trip out there but money has always kept me here (especially since buying my home!).

If I ever make it out there, I'll be sure to come by and thank you personally for being so evil!!

I actually don't live in Maple Ridge. It's a ferry ride away, plus about another hour driving. I live on Vancouver Island. I just did an expanded search and there she was. So in a way, that's good, because if she was in Victoria she would be coming home with me!

LOL She's adorable, and I sure hope everything works out for you and her. She sounds like a real sweety that would fit right in with Bassett, Tilly and Nutmeg, and would sortof be a color blend of all of them, bring them all into Harmony. (love her name too)

All I can say is "we'll see"

I have three cats already in a home that is technically allowed only one. No one knows they are here though..

However, the liklihood that I will be moving in June is good so if it's only for a couple months, where's the harm? That's also going on in my head.

I don't have a job yet (still in school) and so can I afford one right how, especially with Bassett's health problems? That's a concern.

Finally, I am going to see about visiting her this Sunday. But that's a BIG maybe. I'm going away for the weekend, and I don't know when I will be back, and to get to where Harmony is takes a lot of time. I don't know that I could make it by 2pm.

However, if it's meant to be, it will. I have faith
