Don't always assume on the wagging tail either. Dogs wag their tails when they are unsure also. If I remember right high and waving is playing/freindly and low and twitching is aggression/fear. My dogs have a great time running along the fence barking at everybody that walks by. I'm going to build kennels in the back this summer though before somebody complains. Suburbia is moving in on me.

Of course I like Goldens! They are up there on the breeds I like best! We stoped visiting this one though. He had a hole in his fence and he was able to stick practically his whole body through. And alkthough I think him and Mick were friends, who knows?
