Need Help With Avatar

I already know how to insert photos on the posts, and how to make the avatar, the only thing I need is the resize.
I need to learn how to resize my photos to a smaller size.
We just got this computer, and I am trying some new Programs UI have here, it might work. I don't want to have some huge pics as an every post signature...lol.
Some day, some day....(I will learn)
