There isn't suppose to be a difference in the breed work but it is becoming that way Bob I beleive would be more the hunting typt and Merlin the show . Hes a liver and white long bodied and little taller. the standard says 60-65lbs for a male and 14-15 inches at shoulder. Merlin is 70lbs and 16 inches at shoulder. He's chester than most shown here in the states. The AKC standards are different than UKC i think never have checked. I'm working on getting some photos on. If I can get my son to do the job all at once so I can watch the whole process. Then not depend on a teen.
    Love the happy smiles best.

Awww, thank you all so much! I so love my Bobs

Corrina, I hope you can get some pictures Merlin pictures posted soon, I am so looking forward to seeing him.
As for all the breed standard stuff, it has all got me lost along the way I looked in my Springer book last night and it said weight is supposed to be between 49-55lbs and height at shoulder, UK around 20" for male and female, and US 20" male and 19" female. I measured Bob and he is 19" and I am now wondering if he weighs a bit more, it is quite a long time since the last weigh-in! And as for show and working, Barry always reckoned Bob was more a show dog, at least compared to his working girls! As we have said before, not that any of it matters anyway. I am just so glad I am not really into all that showing dogs stuff, it is great for people who like it I suppose, but all that competition has never tempted me, not even when I had my GSDs and Dobies, those and my mutts were all just as beautiful as each other to me.

delidog & bnormal thanks for the hugs and kisses, I quite likes them Guess what though, Mum filled my Kong with yummy peanut butter as a treat but it has all gone now and she says I can`t have no more, that I have had enough (sighs). But she might change her mind if you all asked, please could you, ask her to fill it again for me?! Thanks ever so.

ChrisH, Callihan and Mitchy are getting along really well. Callihan is a little standoffish a times but he really enjoys Mitch. Mitch just loves Callihan. Mitch is getting big. He is about 65 lbs now...his demodex is slowy but surely going away. He is so much fun and full of energy. We are going to be scheduling him for obediance training soon.

Just got done playing with and loving on Mitchy! He just loves to play!

Bob just sent me an email and I think he should have more kong and peanut butter, could you please give him some more?

    Take care ChrisH!

bnormal, it is so great to hear how well Callihan and Mitchell are getting along. I guess it makes sense that Callihan is standoffish at times, I expect because he is older and sometimes wants to be left alone by young fellermelad Mitch! And Mitch sounds as though he is enjoying life to the full, and is also a real handful, but so much fun with it Please give them both extra hugs and kisses from me.

bnormal, you have a message from Bob, he says a big Thank You. Because of your request he did get some more peanutbutter Kong (actually, with cheese and kibble in too!). Though he did get a warning also, he is not to send anymore begging e-mails! Here are some pictures.

Do I want that in my Kong?

    You betcha!

    Oooh, that looks yummy!

    This tastes SO good!
