My RB girl kitty was a tortie, and she LOVED to be on me anytime, anywhere, especially up near my face - she would sleep perched on my head at night (which was not as fun for me
). My boy kitty now, can sense when I am seated, because no matter where in the house he was, he suddenly appears and leaps up into my lap. His favorite way now is to come up behind the tall office chair, make a flying leap to the top of it, and come ker-PLOP onto my lap, or chest first, then lap. He sometimes knocks the wind out of me! I always feel bad when I don't have time to accomodate him, because like Richard said, he will get on my lap and instantly fall into a deep, LONG sleep - then I can't disturb him without feeling guilty. I have to sit hunched over, protecting my lap area so he won't "climb aboard"
!
The legend says that Mohammed adored cats. When one of them was sleeping on his sleeve and he had to go out, Mohammed supposedly cut off the sleeve so as not to disturb his pet.
