Dan whether you believe it or not: there are some very well known cat food brands in Europe like Friskies or Sheba and they have different recipes in France and in Germany. And you won't be surprised, the French ones sound much more delicious. (But frankly I have no idea whether there is the same kangaroo in there ).
However whenever I come to France I buy some French catfood, like "rabbit with herb risotto and tomato sauce" or whatever sounds best .
