Hey! I have an idea then. FF, let me know when you want to come down and I will see if I can get a bunch of tickets. Mike Harkey (who used to pitch for the Cubs) was the pitching coach for our minor league (Single A) team here in Fort Wayne and my Mike fixed his dead computer for which he was eternally greatful and told us that if we ever wanted tickets to Cubs game to contact him. We've never taken advantage of it, so maybe we could now. It's worth a shot if you're interested.

Mugsy & Cataholic - How I wish I wasn't on "business" or that I had a more flexible employer!! I couldn't even get the travel dept to let me fly back via Oakland, so I could go visit my Pop on the way home.

As for meeting up, isn't there some well known, local Mom & Pop cafe we could meet at? I find a mall is a mall is a mall. Don't get me wrong, when I can afford them, I love them. But when I go across the country, I want to experience something unique to the area I'm in. I find malls, like hotels, restaurants and chains of everything in our country seem to be basically very much alike. You may not recognise you're in Virginia, or California, or Indiana, but you sure know you're in the USA!! Even if everything is Made in China!! LOL!!! I'm all for a world economy, yadayada, but at the sacrifice of American craftsmanship?!!?! OK, that's a whole 'nother forum, near and dear to my heart.

Well, I see Frostfrog explained his mission - and I can attest to his not being a CyberPsycho - LOL!!!! So can Sandy!! One of these days I hope to get over to her Zoo, and, Jackie, I would dearly love to meet the wonderfull Sir Perry and Miss Daisy, who, by the way, got me opening up and getting on this site in the first place (remember their horrible experience earlier this year? I am still angry over how that went down, Jackie!)

I confess to relaxing in "General" a little too much, and have been missing out on our great dogs, lately, too. Hmmm, not good. However, I must attend to home and family first, as Dadcat is beginning to feel like a "PetTalk" widow(er).LOL

When I retire, I would like to have a good, reliable vehicle, and travel the Blue Highways (now that was a good book - can't remember the author's name) seeing the land I live in and actually meeting people I have "met" from coast to coast!!!

A trip to Australia and Europe would be wonderful! - if I win a lottery it could happen!! I agree, Nicole, I can't wait to see the images Frostfrog has captured, and I dearly look forward to his next book.

Hey FF you sure are popular! Nice to see your posts again! You are a photographer in ALASKA???!!!! Oh I wish you could show me some pictures! Wow, glad you had a good time! I have never been to San Diego but from what I hear from you people that have been there or live there, I may go this year! Cause my friend and I are going to see the national gymnastics competition(maybe) in CA and maybe we'll stop by and have a look around!

Ko, we can meet just about anywhere. If you fly into Indy, we could meet somewhere around the airport which would be much more convenient for you. HEY! Liz would have to come too and if you had a big layover or stay over (even better), we could take you down to Southside Animal Shelter where Liz got Moki and Mike and I got Max and Sammy. That's the shelter that burned and they lost close to 40 animals.

HMMMMM.....That would be too much fun!

Now THAT's a trip I'd like!! And what souveniers - a little Indy fur, yeah!! Of course, if I get to Indiana I'd have to get something "Indy" for my car guy!! The only souv. I brought from VA was two pressed flowers I found in the traditional Gideon Bible. I still don't know what kind, but what a cool momento!!! I thought about pinching a little branch of some holly looking bush that grew outside my room, but I didn't have time. It was something we don't have (that I know of) down here. That's what I look for when I travel, things that remind me of the place I've been. I have a small collection of shells, pinecones, things like that. Oh, and I do concede to getting a Mug-sy - I look for the cobalt blue kind with some kind of nice looking image that represents where I've been - this time I got a very attractive one with an airbrushed-looking color a image of the District with four monuments featured. (That's another thing I learned while I was there, they don't call it "D.C." they call it "The District" (at least the people I was in class with did, and the news channels ).)

I don't get to travel much, so I don't have many, but that is going to change in a year or two, I hope. It started with the mug-sy Dadcat bought me when he took me to his former home, Las Vegas, about 15 years ago. It was my first visit, as I had never cared much for the place. We had a great time, not in casino's but with real people who lived out in North Las Vegas. Cars and horses, that's my guy!!!

Kohala, by the way, in talking to Animal control, their trial is coming up Dec 20th, if they plead guilty the Judge can decide whatever he wants to do, if they don't we will get supoened ( I don't know how to spell it, lol) to go to court along with Animal control. They have given two of the dogs away and kept one, however they keep it in the house and only let it out to potty at least until the trial comes up.
Ours are doing wonderful, Perry is pretty much over his nervous behavior, Daisy can now run like the wind, but they are more aggressive with kids and other animals and we are very careful with them. It has made me worry about their safety continually even to the point of worrying about leaving them in the house in case of fire. etc. etc. But we are all doing well and back to normal pretty much now.
    Kohala, you take care.
    Jackie

Frostfrog - I still think you should come to NZ where the cats are beautiful and plentiful. They own this country.

Miss Meow - as to your request for pictures, that is a vexing one for me. As I read Pet of the Day rules, one grants POTD copyright to photos used here and I never grant anyone copyright of my photos - I grant use rights but never copyright. I need to make a site that I can share with POTD people and maybe one day I will find the time to do so.

Understand, especially considering photography is your livelihood If Soledad can talk you into coming to New Zealand, Australia is only a few quick hours on the plane. There are four cats in my house alone who love being photographed, and three of mum's, and two of Julianne's black cats (now *that* could be the decider!)

Kohala, we have a spare bedroom and cats galore when you come and stay, he he he
