Souraya, you are too kind. They both just melted my heart. I hope they find forever homes quickly. I AM a little confused though. Are you definitely taking them after the 72 hours???

Molly, the dogs will be held by Animal Control for 72 hours. They are not open on Sunday, so I will pick them both up on Wednesday. I need to find foster homes for them by then. Then I will worry about forever homes.

My coworker just called me and said his wife said OK to fostering the male. I have a feeling they will end up falling in love with him and keeping him. Mac has been looking for a dog and just loves this guy. Now, I need to find a temporary home for the male since Mac will be out of town till the Monday after Thanksgiving. I want to see if I can have him neutered right after Thanksgiving. But that all depends on the foster situation. Worse case senario, I bring him home and have him and Drake totally seperated. Drake will go crazy and I will have clawed up doors, but I am willing to risk that.

As for the female. I am still looking. The other coworker will get back to me on Monday about whether or not her sister will adopt her. But I still need a foster for the female just in case the sister doesn't want her!

Hey Amy....Are you ready for a road trip??? Head south and pick me up and we'll go get them. What do you say???

Seriously, I hope the woman takes the female. It's kind of too bad that they have to be separated since it sounds like they've been together for awhile. Or am I misreading?? I'll just be glad when they get to either a foster or permanent home.

They seem attached. I do not want to seperate them. But it looks like I have to! Better seperated than stray and in danger.

I already scheduled them both to get fixed and checked next Friday. The female will be ready by next Saturday.

$60 is a steal. It covers: First rabies vaccination, First Parvo vaccination, First distemper vaccination, First deworming, Health exam by a veterinarian, Heartworm check for adult dogs, second deworming for puppies. Spaying or neutering, 50% off obedience training at Lake Lanier Obedience Club.

That is a great deal. Very similar to ours. Good luck!! Maybe fate will step in and your co-worker will warm up to both of them. But, like you said....better in a safe home separate than together and stray.

With the long weekend coming up it is tempting! If I didn't have family coming in from AZ, I'd be all for it! But if something has been worked out by the weekend after...

I agree completely. What if they were to remain at the shelter? How long would they keep them and try to adopt them from there? The one good thing about shelters is that they have a lot of traffic coming in and out. More chances of *being seen* by a potential adopter. Of course it is not a good place to be for any extended time, and you don't want to risk them being put down.

The shelter will hold on to them until they are adopted or they are totally full and need the space. I have had no luck yet finding a foster home and I have contacted at least 3 dozen people!!! I am getting so discouraged.
