I doing Christmas very cheap this year -- most people are getting magazine subscriptions that I obtained for free. Others are getting homemade gifts that cost about $5 each.

Mom keeps asking for a sweatshirt that says something about "Grandmom" on it. I looked and looked, but couldn't find anything in her size (and my price range) so I decided to make one.

Looking at a distance, its a glittery tree.


A closer look shows the name of all her grandchildren in calligraphy.


I did it free-hand so the "tree" is going uphill a bit, but I'm sure mom won't care because its made specially for her

and the bonus is: I finally found a use for the rhinestones I bought a good 15 years ago. The scary thing is I knew exactly where to find something I haven't used in over a decade. I never throw anything out that might have a future use.
