Just listed for auction at Sotherby's, an Aussie artist by the name of Arthur Boyd painted it in 1958.
The estimate ??? $1 Million - $1.2 million.
???????? Are they kidding ?? Who would spend such money on that ??
The title of the painting is "The Frightened Bridegroom".

I Googled this because I couldn't view the pic you posted. Some things are blocked here on my office computer. I found Frightened Bridegroom II. Looks like Grover from Sesame Street wearing a mask.

Gawd only knows what was going thru his head. He's pretty famous here, but somehow I don't see why.

Some of the works remind me of Marc Chagall. There are a few landscape works there that I really like.

As they say Talent comes in many forms, shapes & sizes.. I do find the drawing very interesting.. However I would never purchase something like that..
