Thanks so much everyone. Poor Alani was still peeing very little last night and the only time I actually saw him pee was this morning it was also just a little pee biscuit. Blaze did one that was at least 3 times the size of Alani's. I didn't end up picking up his Buprenex until almost noon and then I went to Pet Club to get some litter that was on sale and some more of the Chicken & Turkey Wellness canned. Last nights and this mornings Chicken Wellness mixed with lots of water went over very well with A & B.

I probably didn't give Alani his first doseage of Buprenex until maybe 1:30ish or so. So far it's just seemed to relax him but it hasn't seemed to make him dopey or dizzy which is good. I have been in and out all day though so I don't know how many other times he's tried to pee. He doesn't seem to need to go as urgently as he did yesterday though. I had to then return some things and then I got my car smogged and luckily it passed. The man saw that I had a leather cat head on my key chain and we started talking about cats. He loves cats but his wife is very afraid of them. He's from Turkey and he used to have an odd eyed Turkish Van cat when he was young. He said he has a 5 year old son and he can't wait until he gets a bit older so then both he and his son can tell his wife that they want a cat. I told him to just bring a kitten home and tell his wife that he found it on the side of the road and that it needs their care. Who couldn't fall in love with a kitten.

Thanks again for all of the well wishes and prayers. I hope that I'll see an improvement in Alani by tomorrow. He's such a good boy.

I hope the medicine helps Alani & he starts to feel better very soon.
Does he usually dring less, or more, water than the other cats do?

Thanks Liz. I don't really know if he drinks less but like I said I had been feeding Alani and Blaze only dry food for a while because they kept on getting diarrhea/mushy stools all over their fluffy bottoms. My older four always get canned as well as dry every day. I'm hoping that by adding water to a little bit of the canned that this will solve the urinary problem and the diarrhea/mushy stool problem. They sure seem to love it so far.

I am sending both you and Alani prayers and good wishes! I know how worried a meowmom can get when one of their babies has a pee problem. Ming hasn't had an episode in over two years, but I still watch him like a hawk!

Thanks so much. So far there's been no improvement. I found a small drop of blood on his fur near his bottom area but his pee area still looked good. He may have cleaned it up. Later I found some blood on my carpet near the hall bathroom and this is where Alani and Blaze go to eat and they can also use the litter box that's in there. He's been jumping in and out of the litter boxes again too with very little pee. I gave him some more Buprenex around 8:30pm and he seems immune to it. The last time I looked in on him he was still very alert. I've never had a cat that didn't get sleepy from it. If things continue like this tomorrow, it looks like I'll have to bring him back to my vet. If so I sure hope that she's able to get a urine sample from him. Even it's normal, at least then I'll have some peace of mind before I have to go back to work on Wed. Please keep the prayers coming.

I am really sorry- I think it is important to get little Alani to the vet again as it can be dangerous for him if he doesn't pee. All the best for him.

    Update

Thanks again everyone. I think that the medicine must have finally kicked in some time over night because I haven't seen Alani jumping in and out of the litter boxes at all today. He's also acting much more alert and playful. When I cleaned out the litter boxes this morning, there were still a lot of very small pee biscuits. Ever since I cleaned them out I haven't seen any more of them. I still haven't seen Alani pee at all today but I think he made a fairly good pee when I went back to bed after I fed them this morning. Only he and Blaze were out in the main area of my condo for several hours and Blaze peed in front of me when I woke up and went out to check on Alani again.

I keep putting Alani in a box hoping that he'll pee in front of me but he just jumps out. If he wasn't acting normal then I would still be very concerned. Please continue with the good vibes and prayers because I think that they're working. I also took some new pictures of them and I'll be starting a thread about it in cat general some time today.

    Another Update

At around 6pm, I noticed that Alani started jumping in and out of the litter boxes again and he was making very tiny pee biscuits again. My vet only worked until 5pm today so I called the vet hospital and I spoke to a vet tech about what's been going on with Alani. She told me that I should bring him in just to be on the safe side. He'd be an urgent care case.

I got there at around 7:30pm or so and they brought us back to a room immediately to check his bladder. His bladder was empty again and then I was told that there were two emergency cases ahead of me so it could take a while to be seen. Luckily we were able to wait in the room so Alani could relax without having any dogs around.

We were seen at about 8:45pm or so and the vet said that he should have more sub-q fluids. I also learned that his condition could take 5-7 days to improve. She also said that I could give him the Buprenex up to 3-4 times a day. I'll be going back to work so that won't be happening. I got out of there around 9pm and he was a bit restless on the way home. His pee pad was a little wet but I think it was from some of his sub-q fluids. The vet tech was able to give them to him while he sat in the carrier.

Storm smelled him and he started hissing and one of my other cats had thrown up a big hairball on the kitchen floor. I then gave Alani his pain medicine and then I fed everyone. Later on Alani was lying on his back in the hall way and he was very relaxed. The vet did say that by giving him more sub-q fluids that he'd get better faster. I wish that my vet had told me this so then I could've bought a bag of fluids and then given them to him as needed. I sure hope that he'll start improving now. Thanks again for all of the prayers.
