Sweet Sophie is home safe and sound. She is groggy and purry from the anaesthetic, but all went well. She has about 8 stitches that have to come out in 2 weeks time. She also has some pain medication for a couple of days. Probably no "cone of shame" because of the location. (I told my dad she was having an armpitectomy.") I have her in her own room for recovery.

I truly believe in the power of pawsitive prayer/thought. Thanks everyone who kept her in your heart.

We are all praying for Sophie

and hope her lump removal goes well. Please just keep an eye on it... if the lump starts to turn hard or grow quickly, that is usually a sign that it may be turning to cancer..... I know with my other two angel dogs, that's what I was always looking out for.....lots of surgeries there )

    Prayers and hugs to Sophie

    Sophie's :)

Thanks for all the nice comments. Sophie is trying to stay comfortable, purring on my hand and chirping. She's eating well and the whole thing, so time will heal this poor girl.

I hear news of the lump in a few days time.

Astrid, I love that you also have a Sophie!

Well the lump is definitely benign, great news! Unfortunately Sophie managed to pull some stitches and it caused an infection. So now she's on antibiotics, and special cream for her wound. Her 'Elizabethan Collar' (aka the cone of shame) is slightly bigger so she can't lick at her armpit.

7 more days of isolation in the "Princess Suite" (aka spare bedroom).

She is such a dear, so good natured and happy to see me every time I can spend time with her. She takes her pills like a trouper.

Feeding her is very interesting. Sigh. I am doing it mostly by hand. Please keep Sophie in your thoughts. I really appreciate it!

Oh, Sophie! Be a good girl now, and before you know it you will be all better!

    Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.

Mercy how did I miss this? Sophie, Winnie feels your mortification over the cone of shame. We both send luvies and prayers for a quick recovery.
