At the boarding kennel where I work, we have an 18-year-old orange boy named Sekeetha. (se-KEE-t'ha). His mom went in for hip replacement surgery and he is supposed to be with us for 6 weeks total.
Sekeetha's kitty buddie died three weeks before he came to us. He is a lovely kitty, likes being held - but his eating is erratic, we are sure he has mouth pain (his owner confirmed this when we called her, as in "the vet said he would/might have pain [don't get me started!]), and he howls a lot - loneliness, pain and even hunger, though he has been getting some food down.
The owner's daughter was going to take him to the vet next week. But after last night, with another big puke from poor Sekeetha, he is going to the vet at 3:20 this afternoon.
At 18, I don't know about anesthetic to pull a bad tooth. I am hoping he can get a shot of painkiller and antibiotics so he can at least be more comfortable.
His owner did sign a waiver that he was in bad health, had no shots, and that the boarding place was not liable - that we would do the best we could.
I am praying and asking for PT prayers that Sekeetha can continue on and not go to the Bridge today. He is the sweetest boy,
and is just lonely and in pain, and hard of hearing.
Thank you all.
