    Hello,
If you love labs and have a lab, how come your name is sheltielover? If you love labs it should be lab lover. Well thats all I had to say. Do you have pics of your new lab?? Bye Bye.

Congratulations on the new addition to the family and in having adopted him from a shelter!
If he realy is a Border Collie, the more reason to take him to school. They need training and space to run, they are very smart and obedient dogs, but they need to have something fun and exciting to do when they can't herd sheep.
Once I read of a man (a Border Collie owner) who said he resented to have a dog more intelligent than he was.
    Best wishes to you both!

Well first congratulations!!! You saved a life and that is THE MOST SPECIAL THING!!! I absolutely adore labs, but whether Goblin (still???) is a lab, or a border collie I am sure he will quickly become your favorite dog and your best friend. Everyone has given such good advice that I'll just end with congratulations to the proud new Mom and keep us up to date on yours' and Goblins' progress! Yeah!!!!!

Well, well, the shelter told you a "story"? Not uncommon, my JRT mix was listed at our local shelter as a shepherd cross and her brother did look the part, but Shiloh has no shepherd in her. My opinion is, she's JRT/pug cross, but the family doesn't agree. Ce la vie! She's a wonderful dog.

If your Goblin is a Border Collie, you're really in for a fun time!! They are probably the most brainy of all the breeds (on an overall basis -- no offense intended to any breed) and are VERY, VERY active. The Border Collie is the number one breed of dog in Flyball and I just watched the Agility Championships on Animal Planet and the majority of the winners in the various divisions were Border Collies. Just a couple of things to think about doing with your new bud. Usually there's white on a Border Collie, does Goblin have none? I won't say they can't be all black, but that would be unusual. Perhaps he is a mix? Well, I'm with the majority -- socialization and obedience as soon as possible. What wonderful fun you're going to have with this new addition to the family. Best of luck and keep us posted.

We would all probably love to see a picture of this lab turned Border Collier! Both are such delightful breeds! Is this dog solid black? I certainly hope we can see a picture soon. And believe me, my Honey turned two last week and she still chews! Try to keep a large assortment of toys available, anything to distract Goblin!
