I'm not sure if this is related to her injury...but it seems as if she breathes funny (once in awhile) and sneezes uncontrollably all the time. Sneezing 5-6 times in a row, banging her head on the ground so hard it hurts to watch (and we often run over and put a hand down and she'll smash her head against that instead of the cement). I'm sure it has more to do with her cleft palate than the injury, but it's odd that this started right after her neck was sliced open. But other than the sneezing, she's back to normal!

Ashley, I am so bad about checking dog health, that I did not read this until now when I was posting about Tucker. I am sorry I did not see it then - things have been crazy at work and at home. I hope Kyra has stopped sneezing by now and her injury is all healed up. Did the vet ever say he thought it was the tags? Did she catch them on the kennel or something to make them cut her that way? Pretty scary now knowing how or why something happens.

Poor little Kyra! I'm so glad your mom found the wound in time.

    How is she doing?

    Sorry to be so late.

Very glad that Kyra seems to be recovered. How strange, to have a tag do such a giant gash!

Sending hugs to you and your mum, and gentle pets to Kyra!
