We have picked a new name for him:

    ASGRIM

In Norse it means "chief" but we think it aptly describes how we want his life to be:

His future will never be AS GRIM as his past

It does happen, but I'm not sure how often. If my experience with cats is any indication, it's seldom and by that time they're just part of the family. I've had feline fosters that took 8-9 months to find a home - well, for me to APPROVE of a home.

Okay, so Fuzzy says we're fostering for "a month" but truth is he'll probably stay until we find a home for him that's better than what we're giving him. So -- if you want this boy, you better expect The Spanish Inquisition because not only will you have to get through the rescue group, you'll have to get through us! hahahaha!

It's wonderful that you check the adopting families out so thoroughly.

To be honest, he belongs to Georgia Dane Rescue, so they decided where he will be. They have a thorough exam of fosters and possible families for adoption.

Current pictures of Asgrim have been added to webshots, in a different album. Here is link to the home page with links to both albums, and future albums will be added there.

Scott, I just saw pictures of Asgrim and he is adorable. He looks like a puppy. Do you have more information on him? More history, why he is in rescue, etc...? I am going to send the link to your webshots album to my uncle. He is a Great Dane Lover and has owned several of them. His oldest one passed away awhile back and he is looking for another. Maggie and Mariah are brindles and they really want a Harlequin now.

Souraya, he was picked up as a stray. I will be taking him Thursday back to the vets that first saw him after Animal Control for an assessment of his progress. The person that got him out of AC, has someone that may be interested. But all prospective adopters have to go through Judy, the person I PMed you about.

He is about 6 months old. When we got him, he was less than 70 pounds. He hasn't gained much size, but he has filled out with just the 5 days we have taken care of him.

Scott, I e-mailed the contact you sent me. Asgrim is just too cute! I will wait on a reply from the GD rescue lady and then forward the pictures to my uncle. Are his eyes blue? I couldn't tell from the pictures.

He is so cute! I want him!!!

As still as he will keep his head (even with us holding it), they appear to not be blue, would say most likely they are Black.

I have been away the last few days, so I haven't been home with him gone. He did not go to Souraya's uncle, the rescue person did not get an application from him.

Asgrim has moved on to his forever home, so I am happy about that. We can now concentrate on my cats and dogs, and repairs to our house.

Spot checks will be done to see how Asgrim and the new family is getting along, either by the rescue group or by us.
