    Update...again. Good and Bad News.

I really am terrible at staying active on this forum.

Thought I'd let you all know how Travis is doing.

    Bad news first,

Travis has Hip Dysplasia. It's pretty severe too. He also has something wrong with his Thyroid. He's on Rimadyl, Soloxine, and Glucosamine [with MSM and Chondroitin]. Doesn't phase him one bit though He's still the same old happy-go-lucky dog.

    Good news now.

He is enrolled in a six week course which will end with him receiving his CGC.
After his CGC, we can finally get his TDI and start our Therapy work!

And ofcourse, I have pictures of the happy boy.

    His pretty new collar

And ofcourse one of my Katy girl.

I'm trying to be more active. I need to go search through the picture threads and see all the pups I missed.

It's nice to see you! I'm sorry Travis is having all those problems. Please give him a hug for me. The pictures are nice and I like the pawprints around them. Good to see your little pups also.

I'm sorry to hear about Travis. It sucks when it happens to such a young and active dog. They never know their own limits.

So sorry to hear about Travis. Glad to hear that he isn`t letting it phase him, though, and that he is otherwise living well. Great pics.

Oh no, not Travis. Well, I'm glad it's not phasing him and he is still the happy, crazy dog that we all love.
Hello to Miles and Katy too!!
Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

Thank you for the siggy, Michelle!

Great to see pictures of your handsome, happy boy. I am sorry to hear that he is having physical problems. I hope that with the right meds he will continue to be as happy and active as ever.

And big kisses to Katy and Miles, because I just those little cuties.

    great pic!
I'm not sure how old Travis is but my golden was dx'ed with HD at 3 years.
I started her on www.doggonepain.com DGP about 2 years ago and its been AMAZING for her.
I can't get express how much it has helped her.
It has saved her life, I am sure. That and raw diet.
Travis looks like he's pretty thin and that will help him with his hips.
Altho dogs Hypothyroidism they have a tendency to put on weight. (Keegan has Hypothyroidism as well and weight is one of our biggest struggles. I would like her down at about 90 pounds at least) So I'm not going to tell you to keep his weight down for his hips b/c looking at my Keegan you would say "she needs to practice what she preaches!!" that would be hypocritcal and condescending for me to come out and say it. Even tho I KNOW I need to get her weight down as well. So I will just say. He looks good now!

I'm so sorry to hear about his HD, but as the others had said, it sure looks like he's not letting it bother him!!
