Its hard to tell from the pictures alone... and I was just speculating. In fact, I don't even recall seeing that picture last night, maybe it just didn't load for me or I looked over the pics too fast and missed that one, lol. I know that white on the face doesn't denote a lethal white...

Definitely an Aussie or BC, or a mix of one or both. What about a tail; I can't really see if she does or doesn't have one from the pics, but it seems if she does have one its a drop tail which would suggest some BC to me.

Not really... lol Even in the other 2 pictures of him, the coloring on his ears alone is to dark for a double merle... its not even the right color for a blue or red merle.. let alone a double merle/double dilute... or lethal white if thats what you want to call them, though double merle/double dilute is a better term to use, as it more accurately discribes what they really are.

But I've seen a few double merles in a few different breeds and of course lots and lots of pictures of them over the years so maybe its just easier for me to recognize....
If you're gonna breed Collies, don't you forget to breed in the brains and common sense. Without that you won't have a Collie, you'll have just another dog.

It would be easier to tell if we had side shots of the body, but I thought BC as soon as I saw her. She looks tiny! How tall is she?

No matter what she is - she is one lucky pup! How wonderful that you stopped and took her in your car.

Good luck finding the owners - or maybe congratulations on your finding #4.

Just an update.. She's with the SPCA now. I took her to the shelter to get her scanned for a chip (no chip btw). But she did have a tattoo so they wanted to take her to the SPCA in Burnaby and hold her there in case her owners come looking for her. I will drop by in a few days and see if she's still there. If she's still there after her holding period is up, I will probably pull her out.

That was great of you to keep her safe & then check around for owners.

Thanks for getting her to the SPCA shelter. I hope she finds her home.
How old would you guess her to be?

My very, very rough guestimate would be 6ish.. but that was just based on the shape her teeth are in. I could be completely wrong though cause my 10-11 year old has far better teeth than her!

Probably just easier for you to recognize. It was just a speculation on my end, I don't need to be picked apart...

Alright, maybe the first time she looked she saw something else? No need to get all "Miss-Know-It-All" on us.

I don't think she was getting all "know-it-all" or "picking anyone apart". She was just providing correct information in case anyone else maybe thought they saw the same thing? Is there something wrong with sharing knowledge on this board now?

Anyways the main point is that this dog is now hopefully one step closer to finding it's home. Good job binka nugget.

    *Thanks Ashley*

Look at what someone emailed me!

    LOST - Tri-collored border collie

Tri colored border collie lost July 4th between 5-6pm in Pitt Meadows area. She is a good runner and could be anywhere. She has a white tip tail, a white stripe on her nose and a white chest. She may still have her red collar on. Her name is Laila and is a bit timid with new people.

If found or have any information please call...604-465-8974

She did have a bit of brown around her tail.. so she technically is a tri, but with very minimal brown. She also had a red collar. If it is her, she's been missing for almost a month and travelled quite a ways! Pitt Meadows is about 30-45 minutes out by car I think. I emailed them (didn't see the phone number the first time around). I will give them a call today and let them know I found a dog matching the description. Fingers crossed it's her owners!
