PS- I named her Honey. And I know she does not look that skinny in the pictures, but she is.. She always sits compacted, so you cant tell...
Will say a little prayer for Honey right now that the perfect home will come along quickly. I wondered when you were going to cave in and name her. That can be a dangerous thing because when they have a name somehow they are like family and you can't re-home a family member. Maybe a co-worker might be interested? That would be nice because you could still see her occasionally.

I imagine your hubby did one of these >>>> when he saw you bring her home. That is what mine would have done.

I understand and sympathize about vet bills. I only have two dogs and one cat now, and even when they are well it is a blow to the checkbook after a visit.

You've done such a good job and I know that you'll make the right placement w/Honey. She looks exactly like my Creamsicle (in her younger, thinner days )! You've really got your hands full and I can certainly understand why you wouldn't want to take on any more cats. My vet bills have been crushing lately and I have the amount of cats that you do. Whatever your decision, I have confidence that it'll be the best for all concerned.
    Blessings,
    Mary

Katie, I'm so glad that you were able to go get her and that she came to you easily. She sure is a cutie pie and I hope that she'll be able to find a new loving forever home quickly. Please continue to keep us updated about her.

Ok. Decision is made. I have been talking with a nice lady named Melanie. She lives about 30 minutes away from me. She has other rescued pets, and wants to adopt Honey.

She said that she is taking her in the morning to get her tested/vetted. I am going to call and put some money on the account at her vets tomorrow as well. She doesnt want me too, but I am anyways.

She is a very kind woman, and her husband as well. They were not looking to adopt more pets, but she said she could not stop thinking about this kitty. So I figure that is a good thing.

I am going to do a home visit in about 2 hours. She has 3 teenage kids, 2 girls and a boy.

She owns a real estate business and her husband owns a mechanic shop. She is going to sign a contract, and promises to keep in touch. I just hope she does.

I will update as soon as I find out if she is a proper home or not. But I have a great feeling about this! Wish us luck!

    Thank you so much Michelle!

Please be responsible, spay and neuter your pets!

God, please be with KT as she evaluates this situation, and please let this work out if it is your will. Thank you for KT and how much she cares about your feline creatures. amen. , elyse

I had to LOL at myself..I read this

"I did check to see with my cell phone if she was a she or he!"

and thought.."My that must be a fancy new cell phone to do THAT!" ROFL. Then I thought, oh you ditzy blonde, she means the light from the cell phone! LOL!
Wouldn't it be great though if you could equip a cell phone with a chip reader?? Then you could tell if a stray belongs to someone!

Anyway, our thoughts are with you that Honey finds the perfect furever home and it's an easy adoption for you. Thanks for helping her out.

LOL! I guess I should have been more specific!

And yes I would buy one of those cell phones!

I went ahead and let Melanie adopt Honey. She was really nice, and I think she will give her a wonderful life. I will go to visit her in about a week. She is going to the vet tomorrow, and if healthy enough, she is going to go ahead and get her spayed.

I just hate that part of the process. Everything else is a piece of cake.

If only I had unlimited money, space and time.... I would keep them all.

Now that she is adopted, I am going to be getting the feral kittens in this week, and try to make an appointment for momma to be fixed. She already looks pregnant, and her kittens are only around 5 1/2 or 6 weeks old now I just can not let her have another litter of babies...

    Another week starts

Today kitty was taken to the vet to get tested, vetted and spayed.

The vet said she has ear mites, is negative on all disease, so they went ahead with the spay. Since she was so skinny, noone knew that she was actually pregnant. I feel so bad for her, but I think it is best for her. Since she is so skinny and frail, the vet will keep her until Wednesday afternoon.

Please pray that momma cat is ok, and that the she has a wonderful life from now on.... Melanie says she is so sweet and she is glad she adopted her!

Katie,Thanks for keeping us updated about her. I'm so glad to hear that she was negative on all of those nasty diseases. Ear mites are very easy to treat so I'm sure she'll get rid of these in no time.

I'm sorry to hear that she was already pregnant but I'm so glad that you were able to rescue her because she and or her kittens may not have survived. I hope that she recovers quickly from her spay. I know that she's now in good hands and has a very loving forever home to go back to. Please pat yourself on the back for another wonderful rescue.

I'm just now seeing this but it sounds like a great outcome for Honey. Her new home sounds like a very good one.

I'm sure she will do fine from her spay. My Scout was pregnant when rescued but they didn't know it until the spay. She suffered a hematoma (sp?) at the incision site but that had nothing to do with the pregnancy. She recovered 100% quickly.

    You did good Katie!!!

Great job Katie, I too know the problems with multi cat homes. All we can do is try our best. It seems that you have done just that. If we had a bigger home we, like you, we would have many more but space is limited. So you just have to draw the line some where. Good luck and god bless.
