    BraveHeart EATS!

BraveHeart gave me a wonderful surprize this morning, he ate EVERYTHING I left him over night!

To clarify, this is what we've been doing.......

In the morning when I feed my cats their first meal (of 2) I go to BraveHeart's room, give him his medicines, and offer him some food.

Then, he gets to spend the entire day out with my cats (and us, when we are home). He enjoys this greatly, but I do not leave food out for my cats, so he can't eat again until the evening feeding.

In the evening (maybe about 7pm) I feed my cats their 2nd meal of the day. At this time I take BraveHeart back to his room, give his medications and sub-q fluids, and offer him some more food.

I have been hoping I could get him to eat a FULL meal each time, like my own cats do. So far, no. Which is the reason I keep him in his room, alone, over night. I keep food down for him. And he usually eats some.

But this morning, when I opened his door, I was greeted not only by a sweet little boy, but by 2 EMPTY dishes!!!! One has his canned food which I now mix with turkey (he also prefers me to cover it with water). The other dish was dry food. A new food I found, and he obviously likes! Pet Promise (http://www.petpromiseinc.com/). Nice small kibble, and a seemingly great food all around.

So hopefully this boy will put on some weight in the next week (he gets blood tests and weighed next Monday)

Excellent news. I'm going to check out that Pet Promise food. Apparently Whole Foods just up the street from me carries it.

I hope he sticks with this food for some time.
With Filou I have to change all the time- there is one food he loves and two weeks later he doesn't like it any more. He may come back to it - or not. I think I know all types of food on the market here
    Way to go Braveheart!

Well, the eating paid off. He gained about 10 ounces in the last 2 weeks.

Unfortunately, he did throw up on the way home from the vet's today. But he has not been vomitting much at all, so we won't worry too much. Maybe he ate too much before the car ride, or something.

Waiting for the test results to be back tomorrow. **corsses fingers**

    You go, good buddy!

    He's like a puppy.....follows you around.

He will be spending his first NIGHT down stairs, tonight. He ate well enough that I feel he won't need the extra food he migt eat during the night (the reason I placed him in his own room at night).

The new foster will be taking over his room for a while.

That's a good boy Braveheart. You keep on eating well.
I'm sorry that you had a little upset tummy from the car ride. I hope you feel better now.

Fingers and toes crossed here along with prayers for good results on your tests.
