No power? Really? Isn't she only a hour and half away from Columbus, about the same distance as you, but south.
You're the one sure thing I've found so you better stick around...

They have a well and they need that power to pump the water into the house

Keep sending some postive vibes her way in hopes that her electric is fully restored here real soon!
We know the no water problem also. That is why we have a generator. Power goes off, and we wheel it to the side of the house, plug it in, turn it on - and we have heat, fridge, water and a few lights. Couple up the street from us have a whole house generator. Power goes off, it automatically starts up. Can run on natural gas or propane.

Keeping finger crossed she's back on very soon.

Sending WARM wishes that Anna and her crew has power on soon, it's a pain to sit in cold house!

Well, 42 hours with no power is NOT fun I would have never made it as a pioneer woman either. I like my power and running water!

I have lots of pictures to share. I'm uploading them now but it will be later when I'm able to post them. I still have things to do around the house now that I have running water and unfortunately have to work all day today.

    Stay tuned

Make that hot water for me please. We had no power several weeks ago for about 4 hours and I was ready to throw in the towel and head for a hotel. In my mind if you *made it* for 42 hours, that constitutes Pioneer Woman.

Anna I am glad you are up and running. We usually have power outtages in the summer months after a thunderstorm. My first worry is always for the refrigerator and freezer and all of the food that might go bad. I imagine you could have just taken your food outside. Of course no running water is horrible to contemplate. I imagine that means you can't "flush?"

Your right there...no flush. I did get jugs of water from my work and used the dogs old drinking water to fill the tank...lol! Hey...whatever works!

    My "Pioneer Woman" Tail...

    Tuesday afternoon:

Good thing I got home when I did or I might have been swimming to my front door.

The weather started getting bad, Bon couldn't even see out the door because of all the ice

My poor trees branches were touching the ground.

    Tuesday Evening:

Around 8pm I was feeding the dogs.
Bon was being a good boy and waiting for his food.

All of a sudden the house goes black. No power.

As I finished feeding the dogs using flashlights, Mark got out our emergency candles and radio/tv/weatherband set up.
I was missing American Idol, so he was trying to get it to come in for me (what a man!)

Here ya go sweetie! It's small but it works.

    Wednesday Morning:
Luckily it was my day off so it didn't really matter if my hair was fixed or anything so I just put a little make up on and slipped my baseball cap over my head.
My bathroom doesn't have any windows so I had to use two flashlights to make at least a little light (the camera makes it look brighter than it really was.)

    So how do I look???

I had planned on cleaning in the house since Roxey, Huney and Simba were getting groomed but since we had no electricity, it really didn't work out.
So Bon and I took daddy lunch

Then took a walk down by the river. Our walking place was flooded over

So we just walked on the bridge. Of course I had to make Bon sit for a couple pics...lol.

Then we went and picked up the kids.
Simba was tired from his long day.

And Huney, she was all smiles!

She just couldn't wait to get home and get in the mud

    more to come

    Roxey was tired too

    Wednesday Night

We went out for dinner since we couldn't fix anything at home. We were home about 10 minutes and WE HAVE POWER! Unfortunately 30 minutes later...no power

    Thursday Morning
Still no power, so how am I supposed to fix my hair for work
This is what I came up with

    Not great, but it worked.

Power didn't come back on until around 3pm on Thursday.

Luckily it's still on, but now we're having a blizzard now and I'm just praying we don't loose the power again!

Here's a few of my favorite pictures I took of the trees. I think they are beautiful. Deadly but beautiful.

    Our neighbors yard

    Look at all that ice

I spent a lot of the day driving around and taking pictures. There are quite a few if you want to look at the rest, they're HERE

Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers and I hope everyone that's getting bad weather fairs alright. I'll be thinking of you.

w W! Anna! I just viewed all of your pictures and you did an EXCELLENT job of capturing what has been going on in your neck of the woods. I think you should be a TV reporter part-time! I will NEVER take my electric and water for granted again! The pictures told the tale, pioneer woman!! What a cute little mastiff thingie you have in your car! I love it! By the way, you are pretty enough that you don't even need make-up or having your hair fixed to go to work. I think you looked terrific! Loved the pictures of Mark getting American Idol to come in for you. Whatta guy! Thanks so much for these! It really sort of *took me there!" (But I really wouldn't want to BE there. hehe!)
