What's wrong with getting a signed note from the landlord?
That's actually NOT their adoption policy and I told them they should change the way they have it worded on the web site then! They said it just means that IF you own your home, they require proof of ownership. Apparently they had several adopters SAYING they owned their home so they could adopt because they KNEW their landlord didn't allow pets. However, you can adopt if you're a renter as long as they can verify that you do have the landlords permission to have the pet you're adopting.

This particular shelter is not the one in my county and quite frankly, it's very poorly organized! I called to ask about Sprinkles over a week ago and was told she had been adopted out already. So, then I go TO the shelter to look at the homeless babies and lo and behold, there she is! GGRRR!!! They also have a really nice girl named Sally and their description of her makes her sound like a crabby whench and she's NOT at all! I walked over, picked her up and she melted into my arms and started purring! The web site also does NOT indicate that she IS spayed AND declawed! Geez....maybe she'd get a home faster if people KNEW that! I could go on and on but I won't bore you.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but rather by the moments that take our breath away.

    Thank You, Michelle!!!

It does sound like they are a bit disorganized. I do agree the wording on their site needs to be changed. I'm sure it doesn't help when they are dealing with people trying to adopt when they already know the landlord won't approve. It's people like that messing things up for everyone, and those are the kind that end up putting cats in shelters because they didn't get permission first or at least follow their leases. grrrr

    Congratultions!! She is a beauty!
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is a full management plan in which stray and feral cats already living outdoors in cities, towns, and rural areas are humanely trapped, then evaluated, vaccinated, and sterilized by veterinarians. Kittens and tame cats are adopted into good homes. Healthy adult cats too wild to be adopted are returned to their familiar habitat under the lifelong care of volunteers
