I got to ride him yesterday and hopefully today. I havn't ridden in a year and today my everything is sooo sore.

I haven't rode (extensively) since I was on the equestrian team in college... that was in 02! My balance is LONG GONE ( ) so I feel like I'm starting from scratch. I had my mom go out and take pics of me today so I could see exactly what it was I was doing wrong and OH MY GOSH... I look horrid!

Ah well, practice, practice, practice, right?


How does Reno ride? My friend has an arab mare and her trot is sooo friggin' bouncy there's no way to sit it, you have to post!

He is quite handsome, though I am sure he does look more "arabian" when he's less fuzzy! But in Arabia, they don't quite have to manage with the winters an Ontarian horse must!

Give him a good skritch on the muzzle for me, okay?

Oh, and as far as being allergic to the cold, have you tried applying a good moisturizer/sunblock combination before heading out? That would help protect your skin from winter.

Once you get the feel of it again you'll feel back to your normal self. When I went to see him for the first time and tack up I forgot how to put a bridle on.

He's sooo smooth to ride I can keep my seat very well.

Oh, and as far as being allergic to the cold, have you tried applying a good moisturizer/sunblock combination before heading out? That would help protect your skin from winter.

No I'm also allergic to most creams, my medicated one has run out.

you need to post some pics too! It took me a while to get my "horse legs" back if you will. Now when I ride Gent I feel like we are a team, at first i was very awkward and could hardly get on LOL. Of course it didn't help that he wouldn't stand still for me to mount....but he does pretty well now.
