I breed that is alot like a Boxer and is short haired is the Doberman. There personatly my Favorit breed. But going to the shelter to rescue a puppy sound great. Sometimes they even have purebreds.

Tanya,
I'm so glad you are considering another dog. You mentioned a Boston Terrier. That happens to be my mother's favorite breed, and she has one right now that she got as a puppy in December, Mr. Darcy. Boston's are compact, high energy dogs. Just be ready to play a lot if you decide to go that route.
I'm with Basim (KayAnn) and some of the others, rescuing a dog is always the best thing! I didn't rescue either of my Golden Retrievers, but I will the next time. There are many purebred rescues available as well, so get those fingers typing, and search the internet for rescue organizations in your area.
And good luck to you! Here's a "puppy" picture of Mr. Darcy!

So sorry to hear about your Boxer.
You can go to www.dogadvisors.com. They have lots of stuff there! You can look for a breder, and take a test to see what breed would be best for you, too!!![]()
The boxer was a great choice and Im so sorry ,I know how hard loosing a dog can be.As for suggestions, I would say a bigger, more massive dog. That may teach your schnuazer that both dogs are equal since the one is bigger! I know being fiery with other dogs is just part of thier nature, but you know what I mean. I would suggest a Golden Retriever, a Samoyed, a Bernese Mountain dog , or a Keeshond. On the other hand, if youur looking for a smaler dog, try a Maltese or a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. All of thses breeds are so sweet. I hope I hepled you!!!!!!

I know we're probably all overwhelming you with our advice and opinions but I'd strongly recommend getting a dog with a more submissive personality. Same size, age, sex can lead to dominance problems I'm sure you don't want to deal with. Whatever dog you choose, I'd just spend some time with or get a little more info on so you can be sure he/she will get along with Hans.
