You know, I am really getting sick of this crap. It's excuse, after excuse, after excuse. AND as long as you're still getting your computer that's ok! Let's just not worry about Reggie, or the rent, only the new computer that will boost your reputation.

Collin - if there was no money made, then you had to pass on the new computer, I would guess.

    Take care.

Why does that just sound like a bunch of crap? I mean, I feel for the family situation, but I also feel for the dog.

I thought the dog didn't go to the vet. Now you're say she did, in a round about way. Not sure what vet would think she was peeing blood just because she drank something (unless it was drain cleaner or detergent....). I know my vet would never say "oh, your pet was peeing blood, it probably drank something bad, but, she's fine now." I'd be going to another vet, that much would be sure.

Not trying to bash you Collin, but I just feel badly for Reggie. If you really wanted to save up money, you and your parents would find a way to do it, somehow. I mean, it's a lot less than buying a computer, so if you're saving up for that, then just tack on another $60 bucks and go to the vet on the way to pick up the PC.

That's right, you do that. It's not like you listen to any advice from any of us anyway!

jenn_librarian, I agree entirely. It wasn't until he was challenged yesterday that this story suddenly appeared. Surely, if it was true he would have mentioned it at the time, to quash the non-believers?

Also, this mother of a friend of yours, she USED to be a vet? That's odd, it would seem unlikely that someone who has studied for many years to become one would suddenly drop out of such a career. And I doubt she's of retiring age if your friend is the same age as you. Plus, if she is no longer a vet, then she cannot give an official diagnosis in a surgery personally.

None of this adds up. I've heard too much piffle from this young man to believe anything now. I think my opinion on the matter is final and everything I wished to say was said on the gabbly chat.

    So, good day to all.

I'm really sorry I defended you in the other thread. I really thought you were smart enough to take Reggie to the vet. Guess not...

Can't you find a Vet that takes a payment plan?
Maybe you could work at the vet to help pay off Reggie's bill?
Do you know anyone that knows a vet and could call in a favor?

What happened to your $500 that you had. Already spent it on your computer, huh? Can't you see Reggie is sick. Just because she stopped peeing blood doesn't mean she is better!

Let me ask you a question: what is more important? Money or Reggie?

Right now, most of us believe money is more important to you than Reggie. Your poor dog...I feel so bad for her.

so she drank some kool aid I presume?

I sure hope she's internally okay.

I saw the other threads just now, in fact if you can't tell already you're spoiling your reputation here more than not having the right computer for school.. (which you're only gonna be there for next one or two years in your entire life) that makes me guess you're more into things than precious living things - that's ok - not everyone loves animals as much as we do but I certianly do hope she'd be rehomed to a better home soon somehow. as soon as possible, wouldn't that be a lot less stress for all of you?

and only with that, we can help - can you too?
rest and sleep softly sweet locke..

None of the vets in the area - extremely rural area, BTW - have payment plans.

I did have an offer from the Lumpkin Shelter - I spoke to a lady there, and she said to make sure the family talks to HER - they could TEMPORARILY surrender Reggie, Reggie would get a complete check with their vet and shots, and then they could adopt Reggie back for $85.

I think that was a really good offer, as she was making exceptions to their policy. But Collin's parents did not find out, as he did not tell them. (and that meant he might have to tell them someone else called the shelter...from Canada, yet. Could be nasty.)

And ONE NOTE, if I remember right...Collin said he was getting $500 after the fair at the end of the month, and that his parents were taking Reggie to the vet.

I hope he's able to cancel the computer order, as he indicated it was non-refundable.

Also, his parents had booths at the fair. Rental for these can be very expensive...and you have to hope you make enough to pay the rent and power(if you are cooking hot dogs, you gotta hook up gas or electricity).

I do think Collin should have waited til the fair was over before he ordered...but that's hindsight now.

At this point, Reggie is not having problems. I suggest - JMO - that we drop this whole thing.

If you think everything Collin posts is BS, then stop posting on his thread and replies.

Neither my post - nor any others - are going to change the facts of the matter.

So pretty much everyone should stop replying cause I think everyone except you thinks it's all BS.

He's not getting it anymore or his parents.

Eesh, guess I'm not too good at staying away from threads that get my goat.

Candace, I know you are a very caring person and I respect everything you did for Briana and can see you're trying to do the same here. You have a good heart.

But, I have to say what I think, and if I think his posts and actions are BS, then yes, I will say so, to inform others of information I have gained, and, as we all live in hope, to shock Collin to the reality of the situation. Don't know if the latter will happen, though, sad to say.

Another thing I don't understand is they evidently had money enough to rent a booth, and if that's as expensive as you imply it is, surely that would have covered at least a check-up?

Plus, Collin said his family was expected to make about $1500 at this fair, $500 of which would be his; I just don't see how one can get absolute zilch when the expectations were so high.

The shelter idea is a good one though, and it's great that the shelter are prepared to bend the rules. I hope Collin realises how fortunate he is to have a) a 'stranger' from another country prepared to sort his business out for him and b) such a good opportunity to treat Reggie. I think if he takes it, it'll prove whether he actually cares for the dog, or not.
