It is so heartbreaking, to be so helpless. The rescuers all came together valiantly to try to save the whales, many times. It is so sad. I hope that the scientists find what makes the whales do this so it can be prevented in the future, if it is at all possible.

    Karen, what a beautiful poem.

Karen, I know this wasn't meant to be funny but it did make me smile......

? If only the rescuers, who were try so very hard, had been able to say - "listen, to get back to open water, take a left, go 30 miles, take a right, and there - the whole North Atlantic is at your disposal!"

    So sad...
I'm sometimes asked "Why do you spend so much of your time and money talking about kindness to animals when there is so much cruelty to men?" I answer: "I am working at the roots." -George T. Angell, reformer (1823-1909)

Those poor whales, I can't imagine how those last three days were for them.

Everyone, I just had a thought. Wouldn't you imagine that there is an ocean at the Rainbow Bridge?

When we get there, we will have our opportunity to speak "whale" and learn what we do not know now.

    This loss made me cry.

What a beautiful thought, Gini. "Heaven" must have an ocean.........and I never even thought of it. Thank you for that. Rest in peace, dear whales.
