I either read somewhere or heard on TV that kids who torture/maim/kill animals are very likely to do the same to humans later because they need a bigger thrill, Jeffrey Dahmer case in point. I had a neighbor whose boys buried their own dog up to its neck, then pelted its head w/stones. I ran outside and stopped them and for 9 long years after that, they made our lives a living hell, vandalizing our yards, mailbox, house, cars, ganging up on our son. We since moved out of the area and, no, it was not in a bad part of town; it was an upscale neighborhood. I've not heard what has become of them; I can only imagine that they're all 3 in prison now or making some woman's life hell on earth. Society had better wake up; this is serious stuff!

You are correct. Most serial killers start as children abusing animals. I just don't understand what they're thinking. I guess I'm really glad I don't understand it. I would hate to think I was capable of some atrocious act such as this! What ever happened to the dog?

They gave the dog away; at least, that's what they said. Later they got a cat and the mother, frantic, called me to come and look at it. She said "I think it's dead." I went to the house and it was dead, the vet said probably from feline leukemia. I don't know for sure and they didn't get another animal after that, at least while I still lived in the neighborhood.

Sounds as if they didn't need another one. Sounds as if they didn't need the ones they had.

The Late Great Johnny Cash did an approquite song on his last CD. Its called the Lords Gonna Cut Them Down and warns these creeps who think that they are getting away with things that sooner or later there will be a reckoning with a vengeful Lord.
The Lord indeed will cut them down.
