They are soo sweet but I am a little afraid of pugs ever since one bit me as a little kid.... or else I would have a pug, not a Golden!

I think I own my dog, but it owns my heart and home
Aly, any news on the "widdle puglets?"![]()
No news on the pugs because I wasn't able to go to the shelter today due to bad news about Mocha, the dog I took through obedience.
Mocha has been in the shelter since late February. She had a brother she grew up with but we were forced to seperate them since we couldn't adopt them together. Her brother got adopted in March after only 2 weeks or so. Anyway I had talked a volunteer into fostering her since I can't (stupid pet limit). I got an urgent call this morning that Mocha was growling at people trying to take her out of her kennel for walks so we needed to do the home visit with her ASAP. It didn't go well. She wanted to chase the cat and would not focus on anything else. We never even got to take her leash off. So I spent the day putting my head together with a few other people's from the shelter. Then I came home early. I am working on finding another foster home for her.
I will check on the pugs tomorrow when I'm there.![]()

I spent 10 hours at the shelter today and have very good news on the puggies. Really terrible news on Mocha though.
The pugs were just moved out into the adoption area this afternoon. They were re-named Betty and Wilma. Baby(white one) is Wilma and Buttons is Betty. I'll just refer to them as Buttons and Baby so I don't confuse anyone. A very nice girl in her twenties is going to adopt Baby. I counseled her for an hour on any issues that might come up with temperament. She was very willing to do anything for the dog. She works as a nanny and will be taking Baby to work with her every day. I can tell you guys this was a wonderful adoption. The girl was nice as can be and would fit in perfectly here. She had been looking for a dog for 18 months. She just wanted to make sure she was ready first, and that she found the right one. She also said it was a MUST that she be able to take her dog to work. She already named Baby. I can't even spell the name. It's Princess Dul(something really long), and she will call her Dulsie for short. That dog will be totally pampered (but in a good way, I counseled her on all the small dog issues and what not to do). She can't pick Baby up until Wednesday because we need to spay her. In the meantime, I gave her PLENTY of handouts to read.
A couple in their 20s looked at Bubbles for a long time. They came in specifically wanting either a pug, boston terrier, or bulldog. I talked to them for a long time about proper training because they were a little inexperienced. They are not positive about the adoption and have until tomorrow to decide. If they decide to adopt, I feel very comfortable about that adoption too. They were both really nice and wanting to learn.
I won't post my bad news because I don't want to upset anyone after reading the really good news about the puggies.

Aly, you have had a long day and it was so nice of you to take the time to post that update. Things sound good for Baby and I hope that Bubbles will be placed soon and with the right people. Actually I think I would have chosen Bubbles first.I love her coloring and what a sweet face! I am going to stay tuned for some good definite news about her too. Sorry, it was not a good day for Mocha. When you feel up to it, let us know what happened.

I am so happy to hear about the pugs' good future! I knew those cuties would get adopted quickly. Congratulations to them! Sorry about Mocha. I hope the news isn't too bad.

I love it PugLets.... I have a ShihTzu-Pug. I call him a PuggieShu. I agree with everyone those Pugs are sooo CUTE. It is hard to believe someone just dropped them off, but, Thank goodness they took them to a caring place, which I am sure they knew they would be cared for properly. Bless all of you. What a great Service you are doing. And Am, sure you do it out of pure LOVE. Hooray for YOU.

Animals are the Eyes of God
The puggies went home today. I thought they would be spayed on Tuesday but weren't spayed until Thursday. I saw them both go and their humans were SO HAPPY. That couple did end up deciding to adopt Bubbles. They are very nice and excited about their baby. They named her Chloe. And of course Dulsie went home to be a little princess!
