    Leslie,
I just called the unit and the lady in post partum said that bringing Quinn will be perfectly fine as long as she is in good health Thursday would be iffy because heaven only knows how long I will be in recovery but friday is just fine. I'd imagine that 11 or 12 would be perfectly fine but I'll check with my folks and get back to you soon. They are out running errands (and hopefully not getting lost!) so they'll be home within an hour or so. Can't wait to see you

I get to meet Leslie and Quinn! A mini-PT meeting for us

Logan - I am glad that we will be able to stay with Tyler and hope to make this as easy as possible for everyone. We rented a car and got us a good map so we can do some fun things with him. Tomorrow - we can bring Tyler to the hospital really soon after Austin is born - amazing that this will be happening tomorrow!! I was able to get to Japan where Tyler was only four days old. Sirrahned missed that newborn stage and so he is particularly excited to be here for Austin.

Missy said that they can't take pictures in the delivery room (surgery suite) but I am sure we will have plenty of pictures to post very soon afterwards. This is the same hospital where our own Quinn was born. Missy and I went too have her hair cut earlier - so she will look nice for her first pictures after the birth.

Missy brother Bryan and Chris -chrangharris) are watching the kitties for us. They are even sleeping over some so the cats won't get too lonesome. All of the animals sure knew we were fixing to leave and stayed very close as we were packing. I worry about them just like I did my skinkids. I think Misha might even campout in our backyard

Missy is fixing a nice dinner and it is starting to smell great so I better get in there and start peeling potatoes with her

    baby Austin

It's Thursday morning and Missy just left to go to the hospital. I could tell that it finally dawned on her that today she is having her baby. She was excited but I could also see the fear. They won't let hubby to come in with her when they give her the spinal and that is what she has been worrying about - that needle in her back. But, we should have baby Austin here in about 3-4 hours. The other grandpa is driving in to see everyone also. Sirrahned and I will be headed to the hospital after Tyler's nap to see my babygirl and her baby

Boomer came to snuggle in bed with me this morning I think he remembers us from his foster stay!!

    later.....

oops got distracted with Tyler... It is now 2:30 and we were able to go to the hospital and wait with Missy for awhile until her section. Austin was born about 20 after noon. We were able to see Austin through the glass and even to pop back and see Missy in recovery. I am SOOO glad we were able to be there and not waiting at home Austin is tiny and precious with tons of very dark hair. Tyler got to go back for a minute and see mommy. He watched his new brother through the glass and just stared and smiled. He sid "my baby brother is here!!" Then I asked if he wanted to bring the baby home in a few days and he quickly answered "YES!" I thought that was a great response

Once Tyler wakes up from his nap and we have some supper, we will head back out to the hospital. I hope to put up some pictures tonight when Paul comes home for a bit. I hope you are enjoying the updates.

Our goal in life should be - to be as good a person as our dog thinks we are.

We are now back from the hospital and Tyler is asleep for the night (hope!)

Austin will be spending the night in NICU - a problem with some fluid in his lungs and fast breathing. Missy is sad and teary. She only saw him for a few seconds before they took him back. Sometimes c-section babies have too much lung fluid since they do not get the "big squeeze" that occurs during traditional labor and birth. The pediatrician thinks that is likely the case with Austin - so he is wearing some oxygen and a CPAP which just puts gentle pressure into his airway through a mask. It helps to keep his lungs open. He has an IV to fight any possible infection. APGARS were great though - 8 and 9.

How about vital statistics? He weighed 6# 11oz and is 19 inches long. Here he is at just a few minutes old...
