I'm sorry this happened, Jessika. That women sounds like a peice of work, she just wanted to stick her nose into your own business. ((Hugs)) Good luck! I hope everything goes well. Did you tell the Landlord she had her dog off-leash?

Well I wasn't the one who talked with the landlord, HJ did. But HJ was very calm about the whole thing. He says our landlord seems to be on our side, as we have never been late with a payment, have always called about things, etc. Our landlord seems to think we only had one dog; however HJ explained to him that the he told him over and over and over that we had two dogs and that was the ONLY condition under which we would get an apartment was if they accepted not one, but two medium-sized dogs. Because when he signed the lease he even asked if there would be an additional deposit for the second dog, and he told him no, that one deposit would cover both animals.
Of course I understand where our landlord is coming from as well, he has his butt to cover as we have ours'. But he wrote the contract and signed it as did we, and neither of us can break the contract without consequences.
Also to make peace and to clear the air of ANY accusations that could be made against us in the future, HJ went out today and picked up ALL the dog dirt in our area, whether it was from our dogs or not. And to keep the peace (and our apartment) we will continue to do so even if other pet owners are lazy just to cover our own behinds.
As I stated if I had time to plan for those two weeks ahead of time we would have kenneled the dogs, but our schedule is not near as bad now as the season is progressing. This week we're only working 40 hours or so because of Thanksgiving, after this week we only have two weeks left and then we are off for two months straight (they "lay us off" and then rehire us). Then after the season starts back up again we will be working minimal hours for the theatre until regular season starts, around 40 to 45 hours tops. But if we start working more than 40 or 50 hours (and after the wedding... we're saving for our wedding in JanuaryOriginally Posted by Pembroke_Corgi
) next time I may consider hiring someone to walk them once a day. But I don't trust just anyone with my dogs... Charlie is afraid of everyone except a select few people so it would be really hard to find someone he was comfortable with and earned his trust. Otherwise he can be kind scary when he is scared because of his bark (he won't nip unless he is cornered, he will pee on himself before he will nip though).
I'm glad things are working out.![]()
