    My trip to the States

Finally, after 2 weeks, I am ready to sit down and write about my trip to the States.

As you know, I was going there to be at my friend’s wedding. She has left Moldova at the end of July and after a civil ceremony here, they planned to have a religious ceremony in DC. Because her household effects did not arrive in time, her wedding dress would not have arrived in time for the wedding, so my mission, as a Maid of Honour was to get a dress. Miraculously, I found a dress the day before I had to leave, so it worked out well. The dress was almost like hers, even I couldn’t see the difference. So, mission accomplished.

My friend has been in DC before and she knew the place already, so we did a lot of sightseeing, shopping. I got SEVEN pair of shoes plus one pair of slippers . I had to borrow a suitcase from my friend, even though I came with one spare suitcase.

We had to spend a lot of time on the wedding and preparations, but I did manage to visit some places too: Baltimore and Fort McHenry,

    Gettysburg battlefield,

    Lexington, Shenandoah Valley,

    Charlottesville and University of Virginia,

    Monticello – Jefferson’s house

I did get to see the Panda cub

and the three tiger cubs at the National Zoo.

Of course, I have visited the National Art Gallery
and the Botanic Gardens in DC,

the Library of Congress and the Capitol building.

Of course, being in the States and not meeting any PetTalker is impossible
. As you can see, I met Lbaker and Emily_the_spoiled. We had a nice evening together, unfortunately Laurie had to leave earlier, but I enjoyed the meeting very much

I have really good impressions – I’d definitely go there again. There still are a few places to see.

There were a few things that really impressed me, but I’ll tell you about one of them. One morning, we had breakfast in a coffee shop and when we left, I took the umbrella, but forgot my handbag. I only realized I didn’t have it when we got to a different place (after getting lost twice J). We decided to go back look for it. Of course! I still had 900 dollars and my driver’s license there. Again, getting lost twice, it took us about an hour and a half to get back. I did get the handbag with ALL the money in it.

What a nice visit you had! The pictures are great and it's nice that you got to work a PT meeting in as well! That is wonderful that you got your purse AND all your money back!!!

Monticello is one of most favorite places. What a genius -- Thomas Jefferson! And look at the wonderful fall colors..... Glad you had a great trip and a positive experience!

Well you certainly look like you packed a lot of sightseeing into that trip, and a PT meeting, and a wedding! It's been all go with you.

Thanks for letting us see all the pictures. Looks like you had a wonderful time.

Wow, we don't hear from you for ages, and then ... you've been everywhere, and seen everyting. Even panda cubs and tiger cubs - so cute!!

And you look stunning! How long were you there for? You certainly didn't waste any time. LOL! I'm SO envious you got to meet Laurie and Emily the Spoiled.

Who is the guy you're walking in with? Your future husband?
