How neat! I've never thought to keep a crawfish as a pet. We have a ton of wild ones in the creek here. It freaks Kia out when they scoot to get out of her way.

Zoidberg is very lovely and such a fitting name.

No problem Zippy, glad I could help .

And it must be really cool to see the wild crawfish in your creek, ramanth. It'd be neat to watch. And thanks! I thought the name was pretty fitting as well.

It is, but it's impossible to get photos with the bottom being as muddy as it is. Sometimes you don't even see them but you see the "whoosh" of mud and debris.

The local kids put cinderblocks in the creek in hopes of catching them.

Yeah it probably would be hard to get a photo. When crawfish get frightened they launch themself backwards and man can they go quick. One time mine launched herself so hard she came to the top of the tank and then floated back down lol.

And cinderblocks may work. I wouldn't be too scared to hold them. It really depends on size. If they are as big as mine or around there then their pinchers wouldn't hurt that bad.

lol, Yes its me! Part of your family!! muahaha! No, honestly I don't think crawfish are cute, but yes they are fascinating, its cool how they shed their outer shell like that. And you've had Zoidy for a llong time so it is certainly a healthy animal to have! Zoidy will have to come out of the cave more often to get more pics lol :] And hey I like Futurama too, maybe just not enough to buy myself the dvd sets lol. Good pics Zoid!

Thanks! ^_^ and Zoidy usually comes out at night because that's when crawfish come out to hunt when in the wild. And how can you not like Futurama?
