Thread: Madonna and child

  1. #16
It does not matter what you want,

All I care about is this child shall have a good home with lots of food, why be mad or sad about I think thats stupid I mean if they actualy want to help out a child then I say ''GO AHEAD'' because im sure that child shall be very happy its not like there going to torture the kid.

When I get older I dont want to have a kid but rather adopt one in need of a loving home.

The only thing that bugs me about celebrity adoptions, and this one in particular, is they get to break the rules. The country Madonna adopted from requires an adopter be a resident for a year at least. There was an article in the Edmonton paper yesterday about a Canadian couple who has been living there for well over a year, caring for a child they want to adopt and they are not allowed to bring her home under the adoption laws of Muwali. Madonna shows up for a day and leaves with a child. As someone who wanted to adopt and can't, that annoys me to no end.

To be honest I feel sorry for a lot of the children of celebrities. I think they grow up in a distorted world and often they wind up being very messed up adults. I think this little boy might have been better off staying with his dad. Money is not the answer to everything.

I wonder if Madonna was a man would be the same ruckus? What if Sting or Donald Trump adopted? I don't agree with alot of what she does but I think she takes undo crap from people who refer to sucessful women as bitches and sucessful men as entrepreneurs.

    LOLOLOL,

    Sweetie,

Where did you find that SEX book?

Mommy wrote it a long time ago....when she was younger and didn't practice Kabala!!!

  6. Wow!

I am not a Madonna fan and I don't know Madonna....from what I have read, she had great difficulty carrying her last child and wanted another.

Did she use the muscle of her fame and money...yup....not the first time I have ever seen THAT happen! (How do you think Sharon Stone just adopted her THIRD white baby boy?)

But the judgmental attitude regarding her parenting skills....wow, wow, wow....

Is this the judge not lest you be judged I've heard about?

I've seen horrid children produced from rich homes and poor homes, Christian homes and Moon Worshiper homes.....

She is giving a home to a disadvantaged child. She used the money she earned to help him and a bunch of other disadvantaged kids....

We get the adoptees all kinds of stuff----

we buy them food , clothes, cars and trips...

We call them 'nieces'-you call them strippers.

I was watching the news this morning about the whole adoption thing. It seems that over there, it's common for children to be brought up by a more affluent family, one that has the means to provide for the child. The father of this child thought that is what was happening. He didn't realize he was signing away his parental rights to his son forever.

My cousin is the mother of two adopted children from Russia. She and her husband had to fly there and stay put for 8-10 weeks before a hearing could be arranged. After that, Jean stayed there with the children (in separate incidences) for 3 more weeks until the adoption became final. Then she flew home with them.

Adopting out of the country is a very tedious, LONG process. And while I'm not judging Madonna on her parenting skills, I AM questioning her motives behind such a "quick" adoption. In her case, as well as all the celebrity adoptions, I guess money does talk.

Seems as if the father of the kid didn't understand that he was signing his son away.

It looks like the Big Time celebrity took advantage of the fact that the poor guy was illiterate and thought that it was a temporary thing.

    -------------------

LOL, the "white chick" shows up in a Land Rover, a posse and a bunch of cameras....spreads around some filthy lucre and walks away with one of the children.

Kinda like the movies where space alien shows up, stuns the townsfolk then kidnaps one of them...

    ---------------------

Why not just leave the town some money and be done with it?

"hey look what I brought home from my vacation!"

Or maybe the father was convinced by others that he could get more money out of the situation if he did this.

I gather RICHARD, that you would prefer that people who have earned lots and lots of money spend it entirely on themselves, not do anything to bring attention to what they see as situations needing attention and help, never express a political opinion or any other opinion.

Leave all that to those who got lots of money the old fashion way...inheriting it?

  11. My brother and his wife had two adoptions go south on them.....one the night before. In both cases the parent had a change of mind at the last minute....after having had expenses paid...etc.

    It hurt...it hurt them alot.

They are not rich rock stars but I really can't imagine it hurts any less when you are.

Well, I'm gonna get screwed in the inheiritance department.

Me thinks that it's just a tad self serving to announce, publicize or generally let people know you are doing some good by donating money, kidnapping kids by turning your 'donations' into column inches.

I find it funny that Gates, Murdoch, the idiot that owns the basketball team in TX cannot or refuse to make a 'charitable' donation without putting it on
    company letterhead.

    ------------

    Let them keep their money......

If I had the money, I'd spend a year donating it and my time-
Without the video cameras and press releases working in a town for the people.

A lovely clinic, well for clean water, school for a town is far better than a 3 zillion dollar donation that is more than likely to be misused by some AH third world politician-
take gander at the child molesting, theiving scumbags we have here in America...

    --------------------

For real philantrophy look up Dean Kamen, the guy that invented that people mover thing.....check out his work on the Stirling Engine..

He is putting his money where his mouth is......creating something that will help everyone-not a just a little town where the kids can be had for a few dollars and a jet plane ride.

    -------------------

If you have an extra room, I am available for adoption.

Oh, and BTW, when my cousin and her husband adopted Misha and Christina, there was no media frenzy or cameras.

  14. So....because she is famous and rich....and followed everywhere....she should not use that for good....so people use their earned fame to set an example of giving to those less fortunate, to fixing things, to helping. Hoping (often correctly) that if people see celebrities do it, they will follow. (It was very big during WWII as a way to sell war bonds.) What a sin!

I said it and will say it again...I am not a Madonna fan nor did I EVER think I would be defending her.

But...here is a woman who wanted another child and, after a difficult time carrying her last child to term, it did not happen "the natural way..." so she wants to adopt. Her fame means that WHATEVER she does will be filmed and analyzed.

She spends HER OWN money to fund six home for children in a country most of us could not find on a map.

She falls in love with one child and offers him a home.

Due to...who knows what...misunderstanding...change of heart...not enough money paid....the adoption falls through.

Lovely to see such compassion....such giving of the benefit of the doubt...of being non-judgemental.

My point was that I don't know how good of a parent she is, that should be most important, and I have no way of judging that. That doesn't necessarily have anything at all to do with money or fame, but it should have a lot to do with adopting a child.
