    Beautiful dog though!

Thats what I thought as well. They did suggest having his stools checked. As far as I can tell, they are just like they always have been.

For a while I wasn't too worried about his weight because German Shepherd don't fully fill out until about 2-3 years of age, but once his ribs started showing so much I decided its time to worry.

I'll probably end up talking to my vet about his weight soon. Right now we are increasing his kibble amount by a little bit. (Not too much though )

Welcome. Beautiful dogs. Miles certainly is a ham. I can relate to what its like owning an attention ham myself. That coat must cover up a lot of Travis' thinness, if I knew he cleared all health problems I'd just say he was an active racy dog, but you'd better get him checked first. We've got one or two other members on pt trying to fill out their skinny dogs too.

Welcome to PT!! You can never post too many pictures here...we all looooove pictures!

I absolutely love Travis's face, he has the most gorgeous expressions! Katy is gorgeous, I have a Lab/Beagle mix and she reminds me *a bit* of him (in a lot smaller version of course)...They really don't look alike but for some reason she reminded me of him LOL Maybe its the eyes or that big ole smile...And Miles, he is the CUTEST little thing! I loved the picture with his feet in the air, too cute!

Again, welcome. My name is Ashley and I am owned by the Fantabulous 5 in my siggy (aka The Hoodlums).

Nice to meet your pups! A good-looking bunch. Love the pics where you caught Travis in mid-air, and of course that cute little paws-up from miles!

Looks like you'll fit right in here then! Welcome to Pet Talk! You have a very good looking crew there!
I love Travis's eyes, what a pretty color!
And that Katie looks too sweet for words.
    Miles is just completely adorable.
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

Those are great pics! I love those action shots of Travis. GSD are one of my favorite breeds. Thanks so much for sharing. If you still keep having problems with his weight you can maybe give us some more details in the future and maybe somebody here can help with some feeding advice, etc.

The little ones are adorable too, but I'm more of a big dog fan so I always gravitate towards them first, although there are many adorable small dogs here, attached to some very nice people!

Thanks Jess for the great sig of my kids!

    Yippeee!!!!! Another GSD!!
WELCOME!!! My name is Angie and I am the Pet Talk's local GSD nut!
I have Sierra (Sable) and Buddy (blk n tan) Both were resuces.
Both of mine had problems putting weight on too.
It took Sierra until she turned 4 to start looking "normal" She could never get above the mid 60's. I always had people asking me "Is she sick?" But now she's at 72 and looks great!! She just turned 5 last month.
I had blood work run for Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency or EPI . You should read up on it, and see if it's something you should talk to you vet about. It's very common in GSD's.
My Buddy was only 76 pounds when I adopted him at 1 year old. I finally had him up to a healthy 90 pounds, but just over a month ago he went through a bad spell with worms and wound up in the hospital on an IV and lost 12 pounds. So that knocked him down to 78. Like fighting an uphill battle!
    He'll be 4 in December.
What kind of food do you feed him?
How much per day does he get?

Nice to meet someone as in love with the breed as myself!
Your dogs are gorgeous! I'd love a sable for my next GSD.
Travis is my second GSD, the first one was also a Black and Tan.

Travis weighs 76lbs (I was surprised he weighed that much)

Right now he is getting Purina, but I am looking into changing his food to a better kind. (Again, the wonderful people at the GSD forum are helping me with that )

I use a drinking glass as his food scooper (its fairly large). I'd say its about a cup and half every meal? I've recently increased his kibble amount as well.
