Alas, a noble beast such as I am, now reduced to an object of pity and scorn due to the evil acts of my own Mommy, she who I trusted and loved all my three years.

If my suffering this indignity can serve as a symbolic act on behalf of felines everywhere, then I, Darlin' the Big, am willing, as Martyr of the Month, if elected to this exaulted post, to allow terrible pictures like the one below to be shown freely by The FUR, on the internet and elsewhere in defence of feline rights and realities not only among our small community, but worldwide if the need arises.

As this should prove, I am truly devoted to the cause of The Fur and will be happy, even at the cost of my own personal dignity, to serve the organization to the very best of my ability as May Martyr of the Month.

I will try to post in human here from now on. I may slip up sometimes, though. I understand cat talk is hard for some humans.

Our contest is going really well this month-we've had over 130 votes come in! This is only the fourth month that we've had it. When My co-founder Razpy and I opened DaFURR, we started gettin a lot of pictures and stories of mommy abuse. We decided to hold a monthly contest, where cats could vote for the most abused. The winner gets many prizes. This month, we're giving away-

Turboscratchers
cat dancers
fishing pole toys
furry mice
felt mice
sisal mice
catnip bag toys
jingle balls
soccer balls
glitter balls
Kookamunga Catnip mouse(like a mini beanie baby, with a pouch for catnip)

And if there is something special that the martyr wants, we try to get it.

Of course, we hope that your cats aren't subjected to foofy bonnets or being shaved or being photographed it compromising positions. But if they are, we invite them to enter the contest! My press release for today will be to simply implore abused and humiliated cats everywhere to give some thought to the changing place of the feline in this human dominated world.

Do we simply want to remain objects for the humans idle pleasure? For putting on the funny bonnets, for taking pictures while we are engaged in personal activities, such as grooming or pooping, for booty shots and kitty porno? For putting us in pans on stoves and in ovens and making light plans to eat us if we aren't "good"? For giving us girly names when we are studly dudes, tricking us into going in the big Car to get beautiful, and we end up coming home with no fur at all in the most personal places, naked on the back, and posting these pictures all over the internet for everyone in the world to see?

I think not. I rather think that we felines would prefer to ourselves rule the world and I see The FUR as a small step in that direction. By choosing as the monthly martyr the most abused and humilated of the candidates; by honoring that martyr and chastising that martyr's human, each month, and each martyr will bring us closer to the goal of world domination. Since my story is so terrible, and my bare nakeid back so cold, I feel I would make the best May Martyr of the Month, and I'd appreciate the chastizing of the Mommy too.

A dream of kitties safe from abuse and humiliation at the hands of their mommies. No more starving us, cooking us,threatening to eat us, putting on the bonnets, hats, and even sillier headwear. No more baths and shaves, no more naked backs. No more pictures all over the internet of these atrocities for all the cat mommies in the world to laugh over.

The cat, the noble feline species has a regal history. Cats were worshipped in ancient Egypt; should we not be worshipped now? The answer is, of course, we should.

DaFURR (Defenders of Feline Rights and Realities) is a first step in realizing this goal; of putting the abusive mommies in their places,of taking the scorn with which they treat us and putting it back on them. DaFURR removes the power of the mommies to humiliate that cat chosen as Martyr of the Month and instead rewards that marter with recognition, treats, and toyz, while punishing the mommie with stern words.

DaFURR's martyr of the month serves as a symbol to cats everywhere; as May Martur of the Month I promise to give my all for this cause.

Well, I don't know Darlin' but you sure get my vote. You look soooo sad in that second last picture where your back is shaved. However, I'm sure your hoomans had a very good reason for making you suffer such indignities, and they probably felt just as bad - if not worse - at the idea of you walking around bare backed. You really are a beautiful kitty, and yes, very sphynx-like, and I'm sure your hoomans love you very much.
