Doesn't the Queen pick your Prime Minister? So you aren't completely free of the crown or the Brit's like we are. Zee Revolution, taxation without representation etc.

The Queen ??? No way !!!! She wouldn't be able to pick her own underwear
No, we have our own system of Government here that's run by Aussies. We have a Governor General, but just like the Queen, he's just a figurehead who does nothing but go to lunches.

    Primary Day

Well, they have changed things. I went to vote and did not have to declare a party preference. I was given a ballot - Republicans on one side, Democrats on the other. I was reminded I could only vote on one side.

I know that in the past we had to state the party ballot we wanted. I'm so glad they changed it. Once the dust settles, I will call both state party organizations, and all candidates and request our phone number be removed from their records. If they call - they will not get our vote.

Figure this one out. There is a candidate for Congress, and we received a robocall from his wife - and the phone number was a Virginia number I know he was a Marine, and probably stationed in that state once - but come on . . . . .

Does anyone get a call from their state Senator where you can join in on a town meeting by phone? I have got to be in on two so far. We have a rotary phone so I can't push the star to ask a question but I can listen to everyones questions & the Senators answers.

I am totally ticked off at the moment.

    -----------

My prez decided to skip the Centennial Jamboree for the Boy Scouts of America to go visit the hags of The View........

My best friend's son saved for a YEAR before attending this three week 'vacation' culminating with the jamoboree.

I just got off the phone with his mom and she told me that he called her and he was so disappointed the he decided NOT to show up.

There have only been TWO presidents who have not shown up for the event.

I think she said Roosevelt and Eisenhower were the two, FDR could not because of his illness and I didn't catch the reason Ike passed on it.

There were 45,000 scouts and others that attended the event in Virginia and there was supposedly a buzz about BO showing up.

He could have at least flown over and emptied the holding tanks on AF1 over site.......At least give the kids an fn cheap thrill.

There is an Eagle Scout Merit Badge awarded for Citizen of the Country?

The requirements are that my buddy write a letter to a 'person in power' to have it awarded.

As much as I want to write the letter for him?

I will pass, but will encourage him to make his feelings known.......

Well mate, I guess those scouts will have to bring home those tomatoes and cabbages that they saved up to throw at the Pres.

We have elections soon. And Julia Gillard (our first female Prime Minister) is hoping to get re-elected.
We even have businesses supporting her.....like KFC.
They have just released the new "Gillard Snack Box". Two small breasts and two large thighs

LOL! Australia is just like the US a big corporation supporting an (old?) (young?) hen running for office.

So you don't want the government to use IT to streamline and boost efficiency?
