Hi everyone! I made it home in one piece! The trip was great except for my last night there. After Alexa and I had finished packing we decided to go downstairs to check our email. During the 15 minutes we were gone someone broke into our room. Alexa's cell phone was taken as well as my ipod and my brand new camera. We'd been so good about keeping our valuables with us, but we didn't think that in the time it took to check our email our stuff would be stolen. I'm so hurt that I lost all of my pictures, 200 pictures gone! I have no pictures of me and Alexa together I want to cry just thinking about it. Pictures of us, europride, the city, the meeting, museums.. everything is gone At least we are safe, they didn't take my passport or the package that Karen had given me. I'm mainly just sad about my photos, I still want to cry when I think about it.

I'm very happy to be home but it was hard leaving Alexa yesterday morning she was so sad about everything and was also feeling homesick. Lut if it's possible (as well as anyone else that took pictures) if you still have the uncropped versions of the pictures can you please email them to me, just so that I can have something.

Lut by the way thanks for posting those pictures! I really had a fun time meeting everyone, it was also fun to spend part of the trip with people who I "knew".
    I've been Defrosted!

Thanks for the great signature Kay!

Oh Laura, that is terrible news. I am so so sorry that happened. I know how awful it feels to lose photos and that is what hurts more than anything, the sentimental, irreplaceable stuff. I don't have a load of pictures, but I will send you what I have.

I'm glad that you are home safely.

Oh Laura, what a shame...........it is almost as though we have to tote our valuable stuff around with us all of the time - to avoid the thieves.

At least others will have pictures to share with you - so at least you will have something as a happy reminder of your trip.

This loss will fade - and only the happy memories of the trip will remain.

Laura, I'm SO sorry you had your things stolen. Especially the camera - pictures from a trip like that can never be replaced. It's terrible!! Did you talk to the police? I really really hope you'll get your card back at least!

However, I'm glad you made it home in one piece - I bet you keep in contact with Alexa. If Alexa need a friend to talk to, let me know. I have a danish girlfriend who lives in North London, she has two dogs and beautiul cat! Just PM me and I'll give you her no.

    (((hugs)))

Of COURSE I will send you my pics. Just send me your e-mail-address! The pics I posted are all resized to 400x300 pixels; the originals are 2848 x 2136 pixels. What size is best for you? Of course the resized ones are easier and much faster for sending by e-mail! By "uncropped version", do you mean that oval pic?
I miss you enormously Sydney, Maya, Inka & Zazou Be happy there at the Rainbow Bridge

Oh Laura, that's too bad!!!! What a pity that this nice trip had such a bad end.
However I'm glad you made it back safe and sound and I'm sure the kitties were happy to have you back.
I was glad to meet you and Alexa

I'm just now catching up on this thread. All the pictures posted are fantastic.

Laura, that just sucks. I remember when I visited London in 1975 and stayed in a youth hostel...you had to take all your valuables with you all the time. I thought things would have changed since then. Still, I'm glad everyone made it home safe and sound.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

There were signs all over the place warning people to hang onto anything valuable, but since we had a private room and were just going to to check email we didn't think to bring them with us.

Barbara it was great meeting you too! Alexa and I were talking about how soon we are going to have to take a Europe trip and go through Germany, Scottland and Belguim. However don't be surprised if one day we force our way through your doors so that we can go to Oktoberfest!

We ended up not going to Paris the next day, we looked up everything and really thought about it but with the short notice it was just too expensive, we looked at coaches, trains and planes. So we decided on a day trip to Oxford where we did encounter the rain and I finally got to wear my brand new raincoat! Maybe someday I'll be able to wear it again

Thanks for the great signature Kay!

That's so sweet of you Randi. Thankfully her younger sister just joined her there in London. I think they both leave for Lithuania on Tues and they will look into getting a cellphone as Lina (her little sister) will be there for 8 weeks and she really wants to get a phone so that she can feel conected to her friends here in the states. I think they both like the idea of being able to call their friends and loved ones whenever they feel like it. Alexa will return in two more weeks but at least she will have Lina to keep her company for the remainder of the trip and they will also be staying with her grandparents.
