Anyone ever tried "kushies" cloth diapers? There's a little store nearby that carries them. They're really cute and a little less expensive than the Bumgenius.![]()

The idea that some lives matter less is the root of all that is wrong with the world. - Dr. Paul Farmer
I was wondering what kind of lightweight strollers anyone had good luck with or heard good things about. I have a travel system (car seat that snaps into a stroller) because I got one as a gift, but the stroller is so heavy and bulky that it really is a pain. It is fine for walks around the neighborhood, but taking it out is really inconvenient- it takes up the whole trunk of my car! I'd like a decent lightweight stroller. I was thinking about this one: Chicco Liteway. I like that it's small and light, and that it can even be used for newborns, so I could use it right away. I've heard good things about MacClarens strollers but they are a lot more expensive. I'm open to other suggestions too!![]()
The Chicco strollers are wonderful.
I've been 'testdriving' all thier strollers and that is a good one.
Very easy to manuver and light.

Ok! I got the crib and dresser changer.
Now I need to purchase a mattress.
What is a good baby mattress? Firm, soft, coil count, brand.

Definitely firm. I can't remember what else makes one 'good'. I think the more coils the better, I'm not positive though (that's just what seems to stick out in my head).
Also make sure the mattress fits snug in your crib. You don't want any spaces or gaps between the mattress and the side of the crib.

I bought mine at babies r us.... it was advertised from newborns to up to 3yrs... it was the second or third chepest... and we tought that by 3 he would probably already have aq big boy bed which could last till college...
firm is the best... I hate soft matresses that you sink in... oh and get a matress cover..(liquid repellent)

I thought I would share a few items I found that I really love! One of them is the pacimal or the wubbanub. They are basically pacifier holders that are small, weighted stuffed animals. It really helps keep the pacifier in the right spot so it doesn't fall out every 2 seconds, and Lyra really likes to hold and touch hers. The wubbanub is really cute, but you can't take the pacifier out, which makes it hard to clean. I just ordered a pacimal which can switch out the pacifiers, so I like that. Both of these use the "soothie" pacifier which is what they use in most hospitals.
The other item I saw on the today show, it's called a Tummy Tub. Or you can get the "European Spa Baby" bathtub on amazon (if the others are sold out- this is the one I bought)- they are the same thing. Lyra hated baths until I got one of these! She actually cracked a smile while in this.![]()
