This thread is very interesting for me to read. I can't say that I understand every detail, but it's interesting all the same!

Just on Kennedy's speech in Berlin, the phrase he should have used was 'Ich bin Berliner'. In German, when referring to oneself as a certain nationality or profession name, the word for 'a', which is 'ein', is omitted. The phrase Ich bin ein Berliner' means 'I am a doughnut'. Perhaps not the best idea to compare that particular aspect of Kennedy's life to Hillary's campaigns.
