Actually peeps are not just "pale blue or yellow" they are a dayglow bright pink, yellow or weird. Most people either hate them or love them (they are rather disgustingly sweet). I like them very, very stale. They are also fun to "blow up" in a microwave For some reason only another PetTalker would understand, several of us (without prior planning mind you) bought some at Easter and saved them to take to the BBQ last year. Don't even try to understand that one

Lut, here is the website for Peeps. http://www.marshmallowpeeps.com/ Click on the "click here to visit our current site" and you will see Peepsville! OMG, there's a Peepsville? Then if you look at the bottom of the page and click on "Easter" you will see packages of the real thing. If you click on "Halloween" you will see they have "cocoa cats."

I'm, personally, not a big fan of peeps, so I never knew there were so many, and who would have ever thunk there was a Peepsville? But some of them look downright disgusting, like the green Christmas trees - eeeewwwwww - who wants to eat an overly sweet green Christmas tree. Kind of like green beer to me - just the though of it and I turn green.

When I was at Gini's last weekend I saw some "newborns" sitting out...exposed to the air. Apparently they had been like that since last July and they were rock hard. It was such a sad sight. What was once a soft fluffly marshmallow peep, was now something that could easily crumble when hit. Poor things. I think I'll start a peep rescue group.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I am not amused about the comments on my PEEPS. I was also disgusted last year when "someone" found it necessary to murder one in the microwave. They are innocent, sweet and good for the soul.(and can make your teeth fall out)

They actually come in other holidays then the bunnies and chicks. I sent Gini 3 packages of Christmas ones. And I don't have a pkg right now but I don't know how fattening they are b/c marshmellows themselves aren't that high in fat. Sugar yes but not fat.

The dayglo pink bunnies are my FAVORITES! I swear, they probably even glow in the dark (although I've never personally tested this theory).

OK, so now I'm surfing "Peepsville" and came across THIS!

    Mount Peepsmore!

    Peeps Beach

    Peeps Falls ... and

    Skiing Peeps!

Oh RedHedd, that's absolutely priceless. I love the tiny peep bikini!!! I didn't realize they had "parts" that needed covering up.

    I've been thinking....and that's a dangerous thing for me....

After the BBQ I would like to take the train to San Diego and spend about 3 nights there so I can spend some more time at the Zoo as well as visit the Wild Animal Park and Sea World. I'm told that the latter two will be a full day at each. Would like to find a hotel that perhaps has a shuttle back and forth. Will try to find something on the internet.

Slick, the Los Angeles Times, Sunday edition always has a travel section that includes offers for packages to San Diego and these parks.

I can mail it to you..........and you could at least get an idea of what is available.
