Major "wet" pet food recall of dog & cat foods ~ NOW Includes Treets & Biscuits

Fox news ran a report this afternoon saying that it could take up to 6 weeks for animals to start to show effects of eating the bad food. Vets are getting lots of calls on animals who are just now showing signs.

They suggest everyone keep a close eye on your pets and get them to a vet if they show any signs even now.

I didn't see Pinnacle on the list...although I only feed the dry kibble, it would still be nice to see it there. Hmm...

Yes it is safe. Both wet and dry Pedigree is made by Master Foods and is not
part of the recalled stuff.

Pinnacle is one brand I've never hear of, but don't think it has been recalled.

Okay, just checking. It's all Lily will eat, so I was going to be worried if it wasn't okay. It's also what Roxy eats, so good to know it's safe.

I use the chunks of beef & gravy for Smokey & Maggie. (put a little on
top of their kibble) It's fine.

Pinnacle is on the safe list, although their canned food is manufactured by Menu Foods.

Breeder’s Choice (verified by company 3/27/07)

Brands include Active Care, Advanced Pet Diets Select Choice, AvoDerm Select Cuts, Health Food for Dogs, Pinnacle
Canned from manufactured by Menu Foods, and American Nutrition
The only products manufactured for them by Menu Foods are AvoDerm 3oz. can and Pinnacle canned dog & cat food
The only product they use wheat gluten in is Active Care cat treats (healthy joint treats)

I hope they sue the pants off that company. They have taken something
irreplaceable from those affected by their carelessness.

I'm sure the numbers of those affected are still being tallied. Don't know how those people whose pet was sick, and maybe died, prior to the announcement of the recall can prove their case. All the way back to last October? Could you prove what food you fed your pet on a certain day? It is so sad and must be agonizing for them.

Our Providence RI newspaper did a local story on this yesterday. ONE of the 3 ER hospitals in this state is CURRENTLY treating 3 cats in full renal failure from the tainted food. Fourteen nation wide? I don't think so.
