Just thought I'd update quick as it looks like some of you are waiting to hear (thanks)! At long last, Docker is HOME!!! Things are going well so far but I'm still busy chasing around! I have some pics I'll put up later. He is timid but certainly better than the last time he was here! I'll update in a couple hours when things settle down!

Yes, there are a few of us watching this thread closely to see what is happening with our new dog Docker. This has been a great story for all of us - of how you rescued him from the cold and then decided to give him a home.

    Still waiting for those pictures!

Alright, well, we're home and everything is going ok. He is slowly settling in but he still has only sat down for a total of ten minutes. He is already using the doggy-door! He's been in and out of it almost non-stop. When I brought him home, we played in the backyard for a while, when we went to go in, he wouldn't come to me, I finally got him and carried him in. He soon went out the doggy door and wouldn't come to me so I left him there. After about twenty minutes I went to check on him and he was half-way in the doggy door, so I left him alone again and ten minutes or so later he came paddin' in the living room. He is very timid, if you move quickly he runs away; he is scared of the tv and all mirrors (even glass that he can see himself in). Bud and Tash are not being as hospitible as I'd hoped but nothing major. They growl at him a bit but he is so good-natured, he just stands there with his nose about an inch away from them with his tail wagging wildly. When they stop growling, he seems to think the fun is over and walks away. He is quite impressed with the bone/toy collections that Bud and Tash have and has been dragging bones and toys all over the house and out the doggy door. I realize it'll be a bit of an adventure yet, but first impressions are this is going to work out just fine. Here's a few pictures:

"Holy crap, there's a bone right here in the snow!" This was less than five minutes of his being here!

This is the only time he sat down so far, luckily a friend had stopped by so I got him to grab the camera.

I haven't managed to get any good shots in the house as he seems a little scared of the camera, like I'm chasing him or something. Again, he's very timid, but already showing signs of getting better. He sure loves to be petted!
By the way, I meant to mention, the pound was calling him a Husky/Greyhound cross??

How great to see Docker at home!!! Yeah!!!

We had a few growly moments when Spot first came home...but within a day they were all three snuggled on the couch together. Hope you have the same good luck!

Yay! Oh, yay! Docker's home, named, finding bones, and everything! Wheeee! Oh, how I love stories with happy endings!

    Yay! Congratulations.

I'm glad to hear the first day went well.

He looks like he's really enjoying that bone. My dogs would love your yard too! LOL In fact I think they're headed for the highway to start hitch hiking....Expect them in about 12 hours or so...LOL

You guys look good together and it won't be long before he's lying down on the couch to join you.

    *Thanks Ashley*

    Welcome HOME, Doc!!

I think that post may have been worth the *WAIT*!

Looks & Sounds like this will Work Out just *FINE*!!

From personal experience with SmokeMutt -
be careful whith your movining around -
"sudden movements" on your part WILL be upsetting
    to Doc for a while.

Has he tried out his new crate yet?
Here's Hopin for a *Quiet Nite*!!

Has he tried out his new crate yet?
No, actually. One of his first orders of business was to pick up his entire food bowl in his mouth, take it to the bedroom, hop on my bed and "munch-down", all without spilling a single piece of food! Fairly impressive really! I'm not sure he's gonna turn out to be a "crate-type" dog!!

And yeah, ALL sudden movements send him running for the doggy-door, even if Bud or Tash get up quickly he turns and runs for that door! I'm sure that'll pass pretty quickly.
    Steve

    Well,
remember he's been IN a crate/cage for many days...
NOT a "new" experience for him.
If you're going to "try" the crate - better consider
doing it TONIGHT - while the cage/crate experience is still
    "fresh" in Doc's mind.

Spending the overnight period IN the crate will both keep him
    out of trouble around the House;
AND keep him out of any possible "squabbles" with Bud & Tash.

(Not to mention any possible "poddy problems" that might come up!)
