Cat Haiku

[RICHARD]

i am the boss of
the house, dad foolishly thinks
he runs the household
-------
everyday he
rushes off to 'work' i miss
him while he is gone
-------
he has explained to
me that "if there is no work
the house does not eat"
-------
i don't care about
the house eating, wait a sec!
when does a house eat?
-------
once a week he says
"no work for two days!" NO WORK!
the house will not eat!
-------
oh no, i must wake
him up, NO WORK, NO EATING!
how can i wake him?
-------
i climb on the shelf
and knock his radio, books
on top of his head
-------
"not today! it's the
weekend!!!"- (what is a 'weekend'?)
i help him wake up.
------
he doesn't go to
work he stays home we eat, play,
sleep and watch t.v.
--------
no work for two days
but we still had fun and we
ate very well too!
-------
my dad is silly
i have been watching the house-
it still does not eat!

insomnia keeps
me awake at night, the cure?
a purring kitty
-------
no radio show
jumping sheep or noise machine
can help me at night
-------
paws on the bed, a
face full of whiskers and the
soft purring kitty
-------
the warm fur ball curls
up beside me-i place my
hand on his belly
-------
the rumbling in his
chest begins, and soon we both
drift off, into sleep.

As a content bunny's purr
More secret than cats'

cat inside your house

such a small creature
with so much love stuffed inside
their little bodies

always at the door
with kitty kisses to get
you inside the house

welcome home! come in!
take your shoes off and relax,
spend some time with me!

i have a magic
cat, he disappears from a
room, hours at a time

then, without warning
a furball appears in front
of my recliner

he yawns, grooms himself
and then proceeds to ask me,
"what's for dinner, dad?"

it's the magic of
an empty kitty belly
that makes him appear.

the best part about
a human is the warm spot
they leave in their bed

grey weather and rain
filou under the cover
prefers to play mouse

if i was a mouse
i would live in an earth hole
dark and warm and dry

i would feel comfy
on a mattress made of herbs
how about catnip

if I get bored there
says filou from his earth den
i come out and catch ya

my official new
job is stress management tech
for my dad at home

i prepare to do
my job the moment he walks
thru the front door
-------
the door opens and
i begin my job he picks
me up off the floor
-------
stretching back muscles!
next the arm muscles -holding
me up for a kiss
-------
weight training, taking
me to the room so he can
change from his work clothes
-------
cardio training
chasing me thru the house 'til
he catches my tail
-------
facial muscles! i
see him smile, so i know
that he has relaxed
-------
now we can begin the
best part of my workout
sitting with my dad
-------
later, it's dinner
maybe some t.v. and a
short nap on his lap !
