I guess (I'm not a vet) it could depend on how bad the infection is, but by now he should be showing some improvement.

One of my dogs just recently had a bladder infection (sort of) and it was close to 3 or 4 days before he wasn't peeing as much. My vet needed a speciman too. Can you imagine trying to get a Pit Bull to pee in a Coke bottle?
