We don't know what happened, except that it was a surgical removal. He showed up in the fields/woods behind our house last winter. He wasn't scrawny, and initially I thought he belonged to someone on the other side of the field - he was already neutered. Then after a snow storm, he was hanging around, and there were no tracks leading out of our yard.Originally posted by RedHedd
Yes ... for now.
Is there a story about his eye? What happened?
I put posters all over town, in mail boxes, at Vet offices, and the Humane Society. Took him to our Vet - no chip, negative for all nasty diseases. He needed dental work, so we gave him a Day-at-the-Spa. Took him back to our Vet and he had his teeth cleaned and a broken tooth removed; ears cleaned; nails clipped; chip inserted; and a bath and blow-dry. He loved it!!
We think he was dumped, and on his own for awhile, as his pads are coarse. He is about 8 years old, and so very sweet. We had been calling him Red, and he got used to it. We got used to him, so instead of finding him a new family, we moved him in with the rest of the crew. So we are back to 5.
He craves affection, especially from my husband.
