Those pictures reminded me of something precious.
The rocking chair that my Dad has was his Dad's before him. It is big, wide, strong, was handmade by a friend of my grandfather, and is not quite symmetrical. As a kid I could read sitting in it with a glass of chocolate milk balanced on the arm (drove Grandma nuts when I did that!).
Why did Anna's picture remind me of that?
Because even now, more than 60 years after it happened, it bears the "cutomization" marks of Butchie, Dad's childhood English bulldog. Butchie "teethed" on the left arm of the chair, and left permanent gouges deep in the hardwood surface. He left his mark!![]()
