from a highly recommended breeder: A male who needed a $900 hip surgery and a
female we could have for a steal -- $1,100 -- if we'd bring her back twice for
breeding. To Milwaukee.
WHAT THE?!?!? NO reputable breeder will sell a presumably Pet quality Pug and ask the owners to take her back TWICE to breed her. Likewise, a reputably breeder does not breed dogs with hip problems and s/he is responsible for the dog's hip surgery. What happened to a little edumucation and using your resources? And I can NOT believe she had the tenacity to look for an ad in a newspaper and brag about where she acquired her Papillon.
And best of all, a
breeder was willing to sell us one without running a perp check first.
Am I the only one seeing red flags go off? WELL DUH the breeder ain't asking you for references. They're breeding for money! Who cares where her puppies go? As long as she sells them and they bring in the money, she doesn't care! I just feel sorry for Papillon breeders and owners, because this article is sure to bring on some impulse buys and a surge of byb-bred Paps. This is so depressing. All I can say is, Thank God they didn't mention Pekingeses.
