As long as Ozzy gets no milk when he suckles that ear, I think the practice is perfectly okay. Also, I think it is fine that he lies that way, but it might be better if he were on a hot pad. If Ozzy were here, I'd scratch his ears, caress his tiny paws, and give his tail a little tug.
