Sounds like the worst of it is over now - the tube is out!! Hurray, time to celebrate!!
When my mom and dad were in a bad car accident a few years ago, my dad had some sort of tube in his chest also. He was unconcious for, like, 48 hours or something like that, and when he finally woke up he was a little "loony in the head" since he took a blow to his head. I can remember visiting him after they took the tube out and we asked how he was doing and if the doctor had been in. He said, and I quote, "Yeah that someb***h was here. Poked me a cupla times, punched me in the chest then left!" I remember looking at my brother and we both rolled our eyes and laughed. The nurses had told us he had the chest tube taken out and that it hurts a lot when they do it, so we knew what he was talking about.
Good to hear the news just keeps getting better! Now if we can just keep the boy eating like he should, we'll soon be home free!
