If I know exactly where in the store the item I want is, I'll go to the store. If I don't know and can get it fairly easily online, then I'll go online.

For example, Swarovski crystal piece for MIL: I know where the store in and what I want, so I went to the store.

Hubby's music selections: I had no idea where in the store or even what store, so I went to Amazon.com.
